“20 minute drive?”
Reviewed 29 April 2012 via mobile

We took the road that was barely marked "Sokehs" and kept going and going. Through a residential area, through lots of tropical plants, more houses (watch out for dogs or people walking on the road). Maybe 20 minutes before we got to a clearing and could see the views. It was very pretty, I'm not sure if we made it to the end of the road and could have kept going to hike it but we didn't have much time so only took a look at it from below.

“Nice hike”
Reviewed 11 January 2012

A bit steep at first but doable for kids and adults. You will see WWII guns in the middle of the jungle and a gorgeous view of Pohnpei harbor down below.

“Sokehs rewards patience and caution”
Reviewed 12 September 2011

The path is pretty clear up the Rock, and en route there are a number of ancient WWII Japanese gun emplacements, long disused of course. At one point, the rock face requires pretty intense scaling, though there are pipes you can leverage off. At the top, there are not only pineapples (!) but also the absolute best views on the entire island. Be sure to take binoculars and a camera--all wrapped in plastic though, because my god does it rain there.

“Nice vacation spot”
Reviewed 13 August 2011

We hired Ward from The Village to drive us around. He took us all over the island and to Sokehs island. From the top of the hill you could see the rock. Very nice view. Oh the hike up the hill we visited some Japanese WWII AAA batteries. Then over to the Cell Towers for a great view of the island.

“My Life on the Island”
Reviewed 30 September 2006

I lived on the island of Pohnpei for 4 years, and i will be going back soon. The thing that i looked foward to every morning and evening was going to Southpark and looking at the sun going down or rising at Sokehs rock. It one of the most beutiful creations God ever created. You can drive down the cuaseway coming from the airport and look up and see "The mighty sokehs rock". If you are thinking about coming out to the island, be sure to visit Sokehs rock. It will be one of the most beutiful sites your eyes will ever see.
