“unique experience in the wilderness”

There are no words which could describe the untouched piece of world. There are no pictures which could show the unparalleled beauty of this place. The only thing we would like to share with you folks is a thank you to Pam and Mike!

We spend 3 nights at the Caribou lodge and it was fantastic. Mike and Pam are very amazing hosts and staying in the middle of nature was great!!! Our kids loved it also very much. Hiking, shooting, learning about wood chopping, learning about what to eat and not in nature, the dog-sled and Pam's very, very good cooking, they are still talking about it and their grandparents wants to know everything about the shooting!!! Next time we will stay longer!!!
Thank you, Mike and Pam, very much for taking care of us and giving us a great time!! Thank you, Doug and Constance, Manuela and Matthias, for your company!! We are back home, struggling with jet-lag, but the photo's will follow!!!

Glad you had a good trip home and happy to have had you here! A good time was had by all, I think. Due to a slow computer system, and a slow "Operator" we could not get your photo...but will keep on trying. Thanks for coming, keep in touch, all our best to you and yours!

We went to Alaska to experience the beautiful nature, to see wildlife and to leave (temporary) our busy lives behind.
And we found all this all together in the Caribou lodge. Mike & Pam are great hosts, who made us feel very welcome and learned us a lot about living in the remote area as they do. Mike is a perfect guide during the walks, always ready to tell a story, while Pam is an amazing cook, making delicious meals and cookies (by the way Greet loved the surprise).
For us this was an amazing experience that I would recommend to everyone who would like to experience a step back to nature, but still with the comfort of a cozy cabin, a nice meal and warm host.
Pam & Mike, we will be back.

If you want a holiday out of the ordinary, this is the place to be.
We spend 3 days at the Caribou lodge and we loved every minute of it. Being in a place where you only can get by floatplane, staying in the middle of beautiful nature and last but not least: being spoiled by our hosts, Mike and Pam.
Mike is a millipede; he knows a lot about nature, has a pair of hands that can build everything, has a wonderful way to resolve problems and is a fabulous storyteller.
Pam’s hands are even more magic, she can cook fabulous meals with an infinite variety and all of it self-made, so fresher than fresh. In the meantime she manages to spot a lot of wildlife around the place and likes to share it with us.
On top of this both Mike and Pam have a lovely sense of humor.
So after our stay there we feel completely relaxed and can cope with the world, whatever it will bring us.

After a long journey left n right through Alaska we stay for 3 unforgettable night´s at Caribou Lodge, together with Pam & Mike. Pam tooks care about our wellness so far food is concerned and Mike was there for Fun and Nature. We enjoyed each minute of our stay in the backcountry and the guided hike is surely something we never forget in life-time. Having a blackbear crossing the lake from left to right in the middle of the night brings you down to Earth ! Thanks for theese days and Wibke and myself are convienced coming back to this special place !

Many folks enjoy our place, the wildlife, nature, and life that goes with it. There are some...who come very close to becoming a part of it. You missed little. Getting up at midnight and seeing the two of you sitting on your deck, absorbing up every bit of it, made us smile. Our thanks to you both, and we will hope to meet again. All the best....

Visited with my parents who are in their 60s. We had an amazing time. Pam and Mike are excellent hosts and made us feel welcomed from the moment we arrived. They are wonderful people and we enjoyed all aspects of our visit. Pam made me gluten-free meals which were delicious and my parents thoroughly enjoyed their meals. She makes just about everything on her own and it was all excellent, especially her watermelon berry jam! The location can't get better, on a beautiful peaceful lake with great views of the Talkeetna Mountain Range and you can see Mt. McKinley from their place too. My parents used to backpack a lot when they were young and went on hikes each day that they loved with Mike. I am not an "outdoorsy" person, a 5/5 on the wimpy skill and absolutely loved it there myself. We spent 2 nights there and when we arrived back to our car we felt like we had been gone for a week. Wonderful way to recharge and get a break. I highly recommend and would definitely return.

Room Tip: All 3 cabins have outstanding views of the lake. Can't go wrong.

Happy you made it in and to have you here. Although we are out of peanut butter. And gluten free bread and cookies. Which is fine by me...(actually, they were pretty good too I thought). Hope the rest of your trip went well and see ya next time!
