“Great Hike and Guide!!!”
Reviewed 30 September 2013

Did the Byers Lake hike which was a change from the original itinerary due to weather. What a beautiful day and a great hike. Gear provided was excellent and light meal and snacks good too!! Our guide Heidi was fabulous!! Informative, patient, accommodating and just a great guide and person. Thanks Heidi for a wonderful afternoon. Seeing Mt. Mckinley pop out on the back side of the lake was icing on the cake that day!!!

Hi Elaine and Eva,
I'm so glad you had a great hike with Heidi! Isn't she awesome? Yes, we pride ourselves in having the very best guides. It's too bad your original plans were cancelled due to weather, but our hikes always go. We provide gear to keep our guests warm and dry, so they are a great option for rainy days. Heidi says "Hi!"

“Enjoyable few hours at Byers Lake”
Reviewed 17 September 2013

We did the hike around Byers Lake in August, luckily it was a beautiful clear day. Our guide was very knowledgable and we enjoyed finding out about the plants and wildlife, so very different from our own country. There was only the four of us, it was nice not to be in a big group of people. When we saw something that wanted to watch it was wonderful to have peace and quiet to enjoy mother nature at her best. It was certainly an enjoyable few hours spent on our way to Denali.

Hi Maudie, thanks for visiting us from Down Under and we're pleased that you had such a great time with our guide Toni. Every Alaska visitor should have the experience of being out in pristine nature in a small group with a great guide. It takes more effort than just "going along for the ride" on a tour, but we think it makes for a more authentic, personal, and meaningful visit. We're so glad you came!

“Byers Lake Hike was EXCELLENT”
Reviewed 13 September 2013

Howard gave my wife and I the absolute BEST guided tour of Lake Byers we could imagine. Even though it was a rainy day, Howard dressed us up in weatherproof gear and we were off on a great hike around the lake. Howard's love of nature and vast experience of the area was evident as he pointed out the many plants and animals that inhabit the area, including some beautiful Loons on the lake. It was an easy walk and Howard informed us of lots of local knowledge and history of living in and around the Mt. Denali area. We especially enjoyed hearing about his family and their experiences living in Talkeetna. THANKS AGAIN HOWARD!!!!

“Hike around Byers Lake Denali”
Reviewed 3 September 2013

I was so anticipating my 6 hour hiking excursion with Alaska Nature Guides and it definitely met my expectations ! It turned out to be a small group, me and one other tourist. Heidi was our guide and you could definitely feel her enthusiasm about living in Alaska. Heidi had all kinds of info to share with us as we walked the trails and set the pace to our needs. Heidi also brought us to Cascade falls as we hiked Byers Lake. We saw all kinds of Bear track....large, small and very fresh. Crossing a bridge we saw a family Mergansers, Loon and of course Salmon. This hike was definitely one of two highlights of my trip! When I get back to Alaska I will definitely be looking up Heidi again for a new adventure !

“Talkeetna Lakes Hike”
Reviewed 25 August 2013

We thoroughly enjoyed our hike around the Talkeetna Lakes with Dan. He was a great source of information and such a pleasant companion for a walk in this beautiful area. It was an easy walk and really gave us a sense for the beauty of the area as well as the people who live in Talkeetna...we saw people out for walks with their dogs, and Dan knew them all. He knew all the edible berries and plants so we snacked along the way :) We had hoped to do another hike with them before we left, but we will have to save it for next time. If you want to get off the bus and get out and enjoy nature, go with these guys, it was one of the highlights of our trip to Alaska!
