I spent 7 days of my honeymoon in this wonderful hotel. Everything was perfect, the overwater villas, the food, the service and the wide range of activities offered (scuba diving, jet ski, quads, snorkeling, paddle board, kayak, helicopter tour...). Do not miss the snorkeling with sharks and rays, an amazing experience you will always remember.

The beach was very quiet and peaceful, as there were no kids in the hotel.

We haven't got any single complaint about the resort, we only regret not having stayed longer!!
We would definitely recommend it for honeymooners.

Imagine getting to your across-the-world honeymoon in paradise only to find upon arrival that there is NO POOL and there will be LOUD and DIRTY construction in the main area for your entire stay... doesn't paint a pretty picture, does it?

My wife and I went for our honeymoon in January of this year and were shocked upon our arrival at the Intercontinental Thalasso to find that the pool was going to be unavailable for the entirety of our stay. The notice that we received from management was sent 3 days prior to our scheduled arrival. There was apologies in the notice but nothing much more done for the guests, like us, who had our stay tarnished by this experience. To add to the problem, the construction caused a lot of dust and debris to be strewn about the resort including the dining area. It was unbearable during breakfast and even carried over to some of the nearby villas (luckily, our villa was deeper in the lagoon).

We've reached out to the hotel since to get an explanation and offer the opportunity to try and make things right but have not heard back. I would definitely not stay here again if this is how the hotel operates - if I were to guess, the notice did not have to be last minute as these kinds of things are usually planned in advance. 3 days notice leaves you little in the way of other options and, if you're traveling and not checking email much (as was the case with us), may even be a surprise you receive as late as your check-in! Unacceptable for a resort of this purported caliber and nothing done for the guests in response.

Room Tip: Book during busy season - do not book during the off-peak season.

We just got back from 5 days at this hotel. They run a tight ship from the pickup at the airport - stand with hotel name waiting to check you in, to the beautiful scenic boat ride to the property, to the delayed check-in so you can start relaxing. As our bags were being sent to the room we were driven around the property to understand the layout, then taken to a beach side table to enjoy a beverage and cold towel for my face. It gets you started on relaxation mode in a good way. We requested and received room 205, its the closest to the mountain among the emerald villas. From the edge of our deck and inside the water you have the mountain view that others are paying triple for. The staff is eager to help in every way. They don't disturb you, but instead wait for you to request something...some call this being on "island time" others say they want to respect your privacy. I found it enjoyable to not have someone in my face all the time. The people are very friendly and although at times we had a little language barrier - it wasn't anything major. The property has coral areas with tons of fish and the entire area is well maintained on a daily basis. The huts are absolutely huge - 1100sqft. The St. Regis huts look much smaller and it seemed comparable to Four Seasons on the inside. We had everything at our disposal for tours, excursions, dinners, etc. After touring the island, I would have to conclude this is the best hotel to stay at in Bora Bora. Besides yo gotta love a hotel were you can redeem hotel points for a free room!! We received free internet due to our status and had no real issues. Sometimes it was slow - c'mon you're on an island - but we still face timed the kids and it all worked well. The free shuttle to the main island saved us money as other hotels charge for this service. Breakfast buffett at the Reef restaurant was excellent with a variety of foods and the service provided by Stephane was very much appreciated. Highly recommend this hotel!!!

Room Tip: Room 205 is the last least expensive villa with a major view on the row of huts.

We went this Resort for our honeymoon, and prior to make our bookings we got the Ambassador card for USD 200, as Intercontinental stated on every of its Ads that the Ambassador card would guarantee an upgrade at every stay. I got the card at home and it came of several printed materials stating the samething, a guaranteed upgrade at every stay. I checked online and on the material on how I should proceed to guarantee the upgrade, and in all of them it just said that I needed to present my card at the hotel on check-in. I even went to another Intercontinental in Moorea and they had a sign at the room stating "Guaranteed upgrade at everystay, join the Ambassador today" Guess what? Upon arrival no upgrade was offered and none was granted upon request. It is just absurd that the hotel simply dont ablige to the adds it makes. It is intentionally misleading persons to spend USD 200 on a card on exchange of benefits that they dont deliver. I feel robbed by the hotel and will seek compensation. This is not an honest way of doing business.
On the hotel itself: The service and specially the food is well below the level you expect for a five star hotel, specially considering the prices of the meals. The structure is really great, and concierge services were great. What most people state here is true, I just preffer to go to another resort that I can trust.

Words can't even describe the beauty of this place. It is heaven on earth. Rooms were amazing. Service was impeccable. Food was not the best but was just average. We enjoyed laying of on deck on the bungalow, feeding stingrays, snorkeling, and paddle boarding. Would recommend diving at least once while there. You MUST go to the Bubbles bar for happy hour. The best bartender in the world. Drinks half off and had great music

This is the place to go in Bora Bora. Best view of the island. Great staff and service. The pool boys were everything the the female reviewers said they were.LOL. Enjoyed the boat ride from the hotel to the mainland hotel. Great rooms. Nothing bad I could say about the hotel. If there are bad reviews of the hotel on how icky it is, they probably spoiled rich snots. Other than that it is what heaven probably is like.

We just returned from this paradise couple weeks ago. All three of us, including my 6-year old daughter, had a wonderful time. We booked our package from costco and everything went very well. The hotel boat transfer picked us up from the airport right after we landed at the Bora Bora airport.

Check in was fast and welcome drinks were provided which was a nice touch. Since we arrived early in the morning and our room was not ready yet, they provided a day room for us to have a quick shower and refreshing up. We were glad to hear that we were given double upgrade from Emerald to Diamond OWB as hubby is the ambassador member which was nice.

Our Diamond OWB was amazing with water deep enough to dive into the lovely blue water. The villa is nice with a separate bedroom area. Bed was comfortable with the awesome view of the water. They have a pull out bed under the sofa and made a bed for my daughter. They made my daughter feel so special as they delivered different treats for my little one every afternoon. From tray of candies to chocolate crepes and fruits.

Meals are very pricey so we highly recommend to have breakfast and dinner included in your package. Breakfast buffet was nice with plenty fresh pastries and fruit juices. Although not big selections but you will find the typical American breakfast selections and some Polynesian dishes. We ordered lunch on the beach and they will deliver to you which was nice. We had dinner at both Sands and Reefs restaurants. Service was hit or miss and sometimes we found our wine glasses were empty but no one around to pour us the wine even the restaurants were not busy. Food was ok but I would expect much more for a 5 stars hotel especially compared to other IC in other countries we've been to.

We enjoyed just chill out at the beach. Kayak, paddle boards and boats are free so we took advantage of it and paddled out and around the resort almost everyday. They have stingray feeding at the beach everyday at 2 p.m. and it is so cool to see those stingrays up close at the beach.

Overall almost everything was awesome. The only disappointment was we didn't get the late check-out even my hubby is the ambassador member (which I thought it supposed to be guaranteed for members).
