Over the top beauty and luxury. Impeccable grounds. Delicious food. (The Asian buffet dinner was my favorite meal at the resort.) Take advantage of snorkeling or kayaking in their interior lagoon sanctuary. There are tons of fish, coral, etc. Free washer and dryer in the ice huts are also convenient. Explore the grounds - there is a beautiful chapel facing the mountain - absolutely stunning. The spa is incredible. We did the couples spa package which was overlooking an off-limits part of the lagoon; although there was a pedestrian bridge facing our deck, so it wasn't as private as I had hoped. When you check out, look over your bill twice as we had an extra $300 charge since they double charged us for a jetski tour around the island. There was also an odd $3/day charge for room cleaning perhaps, which was a little absurd when you think about how much it costs for a room. Overall though, it was an incredible experience on a breathtaking island. Even though the resort was completely booked, it felt quiet, private and relaxing.

An island to itself, access only by water or air, impeccable service, terrific food & the best ambience. This was by far one of the best romantic spot in the world. Over water bungalows and the ocean to dive to into. Clear water like no other place.

We just returned from our honeymoon in Bora Bora. The Four Seasons there was everything I could have hoped for. I would stay here again and I would recommend it to anyone hoping for a relaxing, romantic beach honeymoon.

The good: Service is amazing, the pool and beach is amazing, chairs and cabanas are first come first serve and there is no wait, service at the pool and beach is amazing, the overwater bungalows are well equiped, private, romatic and views are excellent from every corner of the room, the food is amazing. We could jump off our private little dock to snorkel and swim and it was simply perfect. Transit to/from airport on the boat is fantastic. I loved every minute. The activities they offered were phenomenal each one. We did the scuba for intro, snorkeling/feeding rays sharks (rays are as sweet as puppies oddly enough) and then the sunset cruise to Bloody Mary's. And you can do laundry for free. I wish we did the massages but we did the reflexology which was nice. The spa is lovely there.

The less good: The best bungalows are the furthest out. It's a sold 6 minute walk to the pool. But you can call a golf cart as needed. Prepare to pay $23 USD for a bloody mary. Beer and wine is more affordable should you care about cost. Lunch is basically the same price as dinner. There is nothing nearby. Nothing. You need to pay $30 USD roundtrip for a boat ride into Vaitape which is the town. The town is a dump. It's not worth going other than maybe going early in the trip to stock up on alcohol and snacks. Shopping is a sad affair.

A few other points: Bloody Mary's has bug, lizards and cats. It's charming and the food was pretty decent but be prepared for bugs. If you're planning a trip don't spend a lot of time in Moorea if you're also planning for Bora Bora. Shop in Moorea, try a few restaurants (Rudy's!) and do everything else in Bora Bora.

Visit to Bora Bora May 2010 for anniversary trip. Definitely worth the long travel. Pricey, but this is what you expect traveling to Bora Bora. Staff is especially friendly and remembered our names and preferences at all times. Rooms are spacious and beautiful with fabulous views of Mt Otemanu. Water was somewhat shallow, fed the fish, but no coral or great snorkeling.
We had free breakfast buffet daily, which was quite nice. They would customize juice or anything you'd like. We spent most dinners at FS, but did go to the island a few times for dinner or shopping. Bought pearls from Robert Wan and Nicolas at Baldini. Nicolas even drove us after shopping to Matira Beach for lunch.
We did not schedule many activities, preferred relaxing and sitting by pool/beach. Did enjoy the spa, couple massage was very nice. Would love to return someday.

After getting married at the end of May, my wife and I flew from LAX to Bora Bora and stay here at the Four Seasons. It was an incredible experience, hands down the best hotel/resort I've ever stayed at. The location is also really amazing; it's quite difficult to put into words.

We stayed in the lagoon view over-water bungalow. There's a deck in the back that I jumped off of straight into the emerald blue water. There was a fresh platter of fruit and a bottle of wine to welcome us as we walked in the door for the very first time. The beds were comfortable, and the tub was quite amazing as well (with double sliding doors that open to the ocean). The privacy was sufficient, though it's probably not advisable to walk around naked. The shower was impressive with the traditional shower head as well as the rainforest style that can be toggled with a simple lever. My wife and I had our sinks.

Breakfast buffet was awesome everyday. Plenty of activities to do, though admittedly the complimentary ones aren't nearly as exciting as the paid activities, which can be arranged with the concierge. Being relatively young and just gotten finished school recently, we didn't have a lot of extra money -- we decided to spend it on a 2- or 3-hour waverunner tour around the island. It was...unforgettable. Definitely recommended. The guide is a super tanned Polynesian dude named Louis/Louie. Good guy. In hindsight, we both agree that room service food is tastier and slightly more affordable than the restaurants there. So think about ordering room service instead. But having just said this, if there's a barbeque all-you-can-eat option, definitely don't miss that. It's extremely delicious!!!

Bottom line -- great, great, great place to stay. Considerations to make are: bring extra cash, sunscreen, and the journey there can be quite lengthy. Air Tahiti Nui also pulled an unexpected switch on us, resulting in having to stay overnight at the Tahiti Airport Motel. That wasn't bad, per se. I'll try to also put up a review there. Also, beware that while this trip served our purpose of honeymoon really great, we had a humorous encounter with an incoming guest (i think they were eastern European), who, much to their dismay, was shocked to learn that there's no "disco" anywhere around the place.
