Description: Morawelon is a friendly, family run restaurant overlooking Newport Bay. It has stunning sea views to the front and views of the Preseli hills to the rear. Morawelon offers a range of lunches from fresh local seafood to speciality sandwiches and on a Sunday we serve a Sunday roast (using meats from our local butchers). If you are not hungry, why not pop in for a fresh cup of coffee and a freshly baked Danish pastry or a delicious cake.

Reviewed 5 January 2014 via mobile

nice menu options for veggies, had a nice roast dinner with quorn fillets. Friendly service, very warm and comfy. We have adopted this as our eaterie of choice when in Newport, now that Fronlas has closed

“A great place for drinking eating and camping”
Reviewed 15 July 2013

We enjoyed an excellent coffee at Morawelon on 13th July while we were camping in the Morawelon campsite which adjoins the cafe / restaurant building. The whole operation is run very efficiently. The cafe on this weekend had a good number of staff and was proving very popular. The menu is fairly short but well priced and of high quality. The campsite and related facilities are well appointed and the location, as a campsite, could not be better. The whole operation of Morawelon is very well managed and it works like clockwork.

“For lunch, tea or morning coffee”
Reviewed 24 June 2013

Great position overlooking the estuary, the sands and sea at Newport. Good food and coffee and very pleasant wines, what more could you want?
Really friendly staff and always popular.

Fresh food, nicely presented with a reasonably sized salad garnish.

“The worst 'fresh' coffee in town”
Reviewed 12 May 2013

Absolutely dreadful 'fresh' coffee. It musst have been in the coffee machine for at least one hour when they poured it for me.
Bad service too, the place was empty with the staff chatting at the back, and they took ages to come and take my order.
Nice Welsh cake but jam is cheap, cream not very fresh either.
So all in all, give this place a miss!

“Never disappoints”
Reviewed 8 April 2013

Visited on a very busy Easter holiday. Booked ahead and although the service was a little slow, this was due to the large number of customers. The food was excellent, substantial and good value. They have redefined the sandwich and made it into a complete meal! Well done.
