Rihana Guest House

If you don't want to stay in a big and non-personal resort, this is the perfect accomodation for you! The owner is the most welcoming person ever, and the rooms are nice and clean. You see the Red Sea and the sunset from your balcony, and a short walk away you find the senter of Marsa Alam, with nice shops and restaurants. There is nothing Ibrahim can't help you with, and he talks perfect english, so there is no communication-problems! When we visited, his mother was there too, and she was also so nice, our kids get themselves an overseas grandmother this week. It was like living in someones private home, and you are treated like friends! The city is still under construction, but you can get everything you need, and Ibrahim can help you get transportation to anything you would like to see. Be sure you use the mosquito-net over the bed, they are biting during the nigth, in daytime there is no problem (so don't forget your allergy-pills if you are allergic) - other than that - just enjoy, and don't hessitate to ask Ibrahim if you need answere for anything! We will definitly come back and visit, and keep in touch with him - worth all the money, even if it's not expencive. We were to adults and three children (age 9, 12 and 13) perfect for us. Thank you Ibrahim, Fatma and Mahmoud, for a wonderful week!

Rihana is a small, inexpensive guesthouse with 3 airconditioned rooms, all with their own bathroom and balcony with a view on the Red Sea. The rooms are spacious and in excellent condition and they are kept immaculately clean by assistant Mahmoud. Host Ibrahim is a charming Egyptian from Cairo who speaks excellent English (He has lived in the USA for 6 years) He has a rare talent for making his guests feel at home. We had some very interesting conversations with him about the recent revolution and the present situation in Egypt. We learned a lot from him.

In appreciation of the good care we received, we made a short video about Rihana, which we uploaded on Youtube. Here is the link: http://youtu.be/BYXzkacdlJA

Rihana Guest House is a place made with care and love; you will feel as if you are in your home. I liked the warm reception by the hotel owner who is a nice and gentleman, I stayed in a clean and nice room where I could see the beautiful sunrise from the see as all the rooms have a see view. Moreover, I liked the simple design of the hotel and being located inside the small city of Marsa Alam. Finally, I recommend this hotel for those who look for simple, calm, and warm environment to stay.

The hotel is located amongs tons of buildings being constructed and close enough to a Mosque so that wake up call is around 5am. The area is full of mosquitoes and flies and they come in the room. The beaches around are dirty yet snorkelling can be beautiful.
Town is a 15 minute walk and there is no light at night...

Hotel rooms are clean, just functionnal.

First off, the Email of Ibrahim: ebraheam@gmail.com

After being harassed by all the Egyptian guys in the major cities, like Cairo, Luxor and Aswan, we ended up in this small town Marsa Alam on the Coast of the red sea.

The Rihana Guest House is located not from downtown Marsa Alam and is about 100m from the beach. The first impression is very quiet.

The rooms are very new and clean and all have very good sea view. Sometimes the pressure of the shower is a bit low, but no problem, just tell Ibrahim (the owner), he will fix this for you.

I guess the nicest surprise for us is that the staff here is just amazing. Ibrahim is a very nice and charming guy from Cairo, with whom you can talk about everything from interesting perspectives. Mahmud is a bit shy but also very nice, will make you feel that you are at home. If you need anything, just call on him, from a nice cup of tee to a nice shot of Shisha. There is something you may not think of, but there is nothing they cannot do for you.

If you want to go diving on a nice beach, just tell Ibrahim, he can drive you right to the diving spot, arrange everything for you and drive you home when you are done.

By the way, a British diving school is opening up soon in Rihana Guest House, if you are a lover of diving, you should not miss it.

Oh yeah, if you have any problem about airport transfer, just contact Ibrahim ahead of time, he can arrange a limo to pick you up at a price of 30 Euro, which is OK, considering the distance (65 KM).

The rooms are VERY clean, the owner - Ibrahim - is wonderful, perfect english, when you have a request the answer is "No problem" and you REALLY get what you asked for!!!if the breakfast doesn't include what you wanted, no problem, before you even know it someone is there with what you wanted. you just feel comfortable. the pet cat "Samba" makes nice and easy going. if the water pressure is low just remind Ibrahim and he'll turn the pump on, if you need an extra chair, the furniture is limited, just ask. perfect if you don't like traditional hotels.
