“great place great holiday!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 July 2013

Our expectations were high reading the reviews about this hotel and we weren't disappointed at all.
The beach is great, we love snorkeling and it has been amazing, turtles, many kind of fish, dugongo.
Food is really good, there is a huge choice so I don't understand how someone can be disappointed (thanks to Captain Abdou for his kidness!).
Room big and clean and we were lucky to have Ibrahim that is an artist to do beautiful and funny "sculptures" with our towels.
We also tried the massage centre and we loved it (Amira and Aladino were great!).
We will definitely be back!

My wife and myself had a wonderful stay at the Hilton Marsa Alam resort. We have visited the red sea area approx. 5 times and this was by far the best resort we have stayed in. If your looking for quiet luxury then this is for you. Elsayed Fouad our house keeper was very friendly and kept the room very clean, nothing was too much trouble. Mohammed Tarek and Alaa Lofty in the restaurant were both very attentive and really looked after us. In fact all staff were great and this was definitely the most friendly hotel we have stayed in. A short walk to the snorkelling area was fine and all the grounds were of high quality. we used the adult only pool during our stay and because it was unheated was very quiet. All in all a very enjoyable stay in beautiful surroundings.

Room Tip: We were lucky enough to be upgraded to a suite which was excellent and thoroughly recommended.

Here at present and enjoying an extended holiday.
Having read many of the reviews we had high expectations of the hotel and have not been disappointed so far...
The staff, service and quality of food have been exceptional and the accommodation itself is of a particularly high standard..... We took the opportunity to upgrade to a suite and that was well worth the investment.
A first class hotel

Well - what can I say! This is my 17th visit to the Red Sea having been to Sharm, Hurghada, Taba, El Gouna Dahab and Marsa before. This hotel was by far the best out of all of them and most of them were 5 star too (I even stayed at the Hilton Fayrouz in Sharm 10 years ago).

The reason this hotel was so so special is mainly because of the staff - always smiling, ever so friendly, courteous, polite, efficient and we felt like part of a big family not just hotel guests.
The staff from the grounds maintenance guys through to the hotel management team all stopped to chat and ask how we were getting along and if there was anything else that they could do. Even when it was really busy the staff still made time to stop and chat for a little bit.
A special mention has to go to a few "extra special" staff -
Mitzou in the Waves pool bar and Kush bar in the evenings was so friendly. He always had a special cocktail waiting for me at the bar as he saw me approach in the distance. He couldn't do enough for us.
Alaa the Maitre D in the main buffet restaurant. Always stopped for a chat even though he was very busy. He made A La Carte reservations for us at the drop of a hat and couldn't do enough for us. He's a real joker too and I will miss him dearly.
Mohammed Saied aka "HAPPY" in the main buffet restaurant. So sweet and like his name always happy. He always plonked a big pot of strong coffee on our table at breakfast (knowing that I loved lots of strong coffee in the mornings) even when we were not seated in his section.
Hamada - our lovely housekeeping guy. The rooms were kept spotless by him. He always left plenty of supplies (coffee and bath products) and his towel art was super fantastic and always made us smile. He too always had time for a chat in the mornings as busy as he was!!
I could go on but really all of the staff were wonderfull.

We tried every restaurant and bar in the complex (some twice) and I found the food to be excellent. Lots of variety, great quality, something for everyone. I really can't understand why some people have critisized the food - they must be from another planet!!!! The food was fantastic especially in the Noba restaurant. On our second visit to the Noba restaurant I asked for a pizza but with toppings that weren't on the menu. The waiter said he would see what he could do (to be honest I wasn't that bothered but just thought I would ask). The next minute the head chef came out of the kitchens to speak with me and clarify exactly what I wanted!! Wow - what service!! Needless to say the pizza was superb.

We went scuba diving with Diving Ocean which was great - although beware if you're paying in Sterling as you lose alot on the rate.
Horse riding at Oscars on the beach - great fun
Massages at the hotel Spa - wonderfull (if you're a lady ask for Doa)

The only minor gripes was that everything in the hotel from the shops to the diving to the trips was priced in Euro!!!! WHY????? Also, the reserving of sunbeds became very tedious in the end. Our room (number 3104) overlooked the adult pool and as an early riser at 6am I would sit on my balcony and watch them all come down and reserve beds only to show up hours and hours later. This was being addressed but neede to be enforced.

Thank you to Martin Rogers too for upgrading our room to a pool/sea view and honouring all my special requests - that was a first for me.

Room Tip: room 3104 was perfect 1 minite walk from the adult and waves pools, 5 minute walk to the main buffet...

My girlfriend and I have returned from the Hilton Marsa Alam having had a very relaxing and enjoyable holiday.

Generally the hotel is very good. The rooms are nice and kept very clean. The grounds are well maintained and the beach and snorkeling are spot on (it is a little bit of a walk but nothing to complain about).

On the downside however the main restaurant can be a bit hectic, it often is difficult to order drinks, and the demand for tables is high. A couple of times we noticed restaurant staff being a little too efficient, clearing away tables when the diners had only got up to get another course.

The other downside is that the hotel is a little quiet on the evening/night time. The majority of the bars don't have any music at all so it feels a little like a waiting room. The Axis bar was fun at times, however sometimes there was only light background music, or the kids disco on. You would notice couples, groups looking into the Axis bar for something different to the quiet bars only to find another quiet bar or a children's party.

On the whole though the holiday and hotel was really good. I have to give a special mention to Hani, the manager at the beach and Axis bar. He was a lot of fun, very friendly and professional... ...and kept me supplied with beer! Fantastic.

My husband and I stayed at this hotel from the 4th June for 2 weeks.

We arranged our own transfer from Hurghada airport, which took about 4 hours, we arrived at the Hilton at 10.45 pm, check in was swift and the welcome drink was much appreciated. Dinner had just finished but the staff arranged for some refreshments in our room.

The bell boy showed us to our room, which was beautiful, we had been upgraded to a sea view room and we were shown how various equipment operated in the room. We had started to unpack when we had rolls, meat, cheeses and fruit brought to our room, much needed!

Next morning we found our bearings around the complex, everything is beautifully kept, the gardens are lovely, everything spotless and staff very helpful and happy.

We ate most days at the main restaurant. Food was plentiful and a table was always found in a few moments. We always used the sanitiser when entering and staff also ensured guests who didn't use it automatically were directed to it. I am a fussy eater but everyday I was amazed at the variety of food on offer, the chefs would also go out of the way to cater for any dietary requirements. At lunchtimes we would eat by the pool, service was always quick and the food was excellent. We did try a couple of the other restaurants but I enjoyed the main restaurant, mainly for the choice.

My husband ventured to the beach most days whilst I stayed around the pool.

The beach is only a short walk away and yes there is a train which you can catch but to be honest the walk was nice. Beach bar was good and service we excellent. We didn't mind being disturbed by traders and at no time was anyone "pushy" and a polite "no thank you" was all that was required.

All the pools were very clean and plenty of sun beds, the towel man always had a welcome smile for you. The last couple of days of our holidays there were people reserving sun beds the night before!. I think this should be monitored more closely as some guests would stay around the pool until 11 am, leave and not come back until 4 pm but they kept their towels on the beds.

We did use the internet n the lobby and found it slightly slower than what we are used too but remember it is also free!

The entertainment team were OK, we met a new member of staff called Sarah who arrived the day before we left, she came around to everyone by the poolside and introduced herself, the first time any of the team had done this. Guests don't come to the hotel for the entertainment, I think if they did they would expect the staff to be more professional and experienced, good luck Sarah.!

We would definitely recommend this hotel, it was excellent value for money, the gardens are so well kept, grounds very clean and staff seem so happy.

One negative, I think smoking in the lobby needs to be banned, it sometimes felt you were walking through fog!

Thank you
Omah, our cleaner, every day the room was spotless.
Noir, , very attentive.
Reception manager.
Head of housekeeping.
Last but not least, Musi bar man by pool and in the lobby on the evening

Martin - you have a lovely hotel which you should be very proud of but you should be more proud of your staff, they are a credit to the Hilton group.

A holiday we wont forget.

We are very pleased to see your nice review and how much you have enjoyed your holiday with us! I will personally make sure that all you positive appreciation is delivered to the hotel Team members. Unfortunately, Egypt is a smoking country and we have to respect the local law. However, all our restaurants operates a non smoking policy and Axis bar has a separated areas.

We had a lovely holiday at The Hilton Marsa Alam. It helped that we knew a lot of the staff from earlier holidays at The Hilton Taba. We tried all the restaurants and can't fault any of them except perhaps that the portions were a bit on large side. Our suite was spacious and very near the beach. The beach is a bit of a trek but there is a tram which transports people from near the main building to the beach and back again. The beach bar is very good for lunches. The fish are amazing and the coral reef is colourful. We will most certainly return.
