“loved this hotel fabulous staff thanks for a wonderful stay”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 September 2013 via mobile

We stayed the 6th to the 20th September 2013.

We arrived at 1 in the morming and Tarek the food and beverage manager greeted us and gave us a drink of juice which was greatly appreciated after a three hour transfer.

When we arrived there were only 10 guests , and we were the only british there. The staff treat us like royalty and didnt find any fault with any of them, all were friendly and happy to chat
Both mohammed and Mahmoud in the restaurant were lovely Mohammed was football daft and knew every team and player in the premiership and Mahmoud with his limited but good English nicknamed us Mr & Mrs.

The food in the resataurant in the first week was nice and we always found something to eat, they had a better selection and cooking station opened the second week as more guests arrived and a bigger selection of food.No bad stomachs or anything. The first week in the beach bar we had pizza cooked for each of us seperately with salad etc which is better however the second week was in the large serving tins which was a bit of a free for all so we tended to go up to the main hill view restarant for lunch if we were not diving, but still not bad and when we did eat there it was ok.

Mohamed in the beach bar (and also the shisha on an evening ) was really friendly and funny and kept our drinks topped up and popped down to bring drinks when we had been snorkeling.

The pools were cleaned everynight and the swim up pool bar was good.

Our room was massive and well cleaned everyday , fresh towels and bedding daily and a couple of towel arts on the bed.

Mustafa in the lobby bar was a smashing bar tender and always made sure we had a drink and brought them to the table , if we did walk to the bar we got told to sit down and he would bring the drinks out.

We both had a thai massage in the spa and this was really good and sorted a few aches and pains out would highly recommend it.

The beach was lovely and the snorkeling is amazing we saw turtles almost daily, it did get a bit murky in the afternoon but this is because its a sandy bay.
We saw stingrays ,puffer fish ,morays and masses of colourful fish every day .

We used the on site dive centre and had a brilliant time with ducks diving the staff were excellent and good fun and were excellent in their knowledge of the area.
The dives we did were amazing and dolphin house and marsa egla were amazing were I found a seahorse which made my trip.really recommend diving with these guys, thanks to mimo, Sophie, Sherrif, Mido (sausage lol) arrmanti , the speed boat driver and the guy who helped with our equipment everyday for some fab diving.

The entertainment was good and varied really enjoyed the african show and Chico and Tito were really good fun and worked really hard and came over to talk everyday.

Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and wish the british tour operators would bring some more english guests, most during our stay were Czech.

We would certainley return as we had a really relaxing time thanks to all the staff whom we met for a wonderful stay.

REVIEWS : Guest accommodation: room we were given virtually immediately after arrival at about 8 pm, which was nice , we were again accommodated in block No.12, room is nice , the room we were given fruit , bathrobes and slippers , which was nice attention . There were few guests and occupy the second room , even if you have paid only standratní . The other guests were also staying in block 12 or No. 1 - 3, which are the best in the season usually reserved only for Italy, other blocks were closed because the hotel was only 22 guests (16 Czechs , 4 Germans , Poles 2 )

Dietary assessment : The biggest disappointment was the food bad choice and service was not over the Christmas holidays, when the hotel was also little guest. For breakfast , we had to beg for ever - on napkins , butter , milk, lime , etc. , was not a traditional green tea , offering poor quality hard bread , etc. , only fruit compote , (apple + green melon) , the oranges we had also beg ... On the beach was no food for lunch , fruit , or vegetables , as usual , did not work also no grill , pizza we had to " beg " , after several reminders started a few days finally do pizza , but initially only 2 hours a day and also as a bartender 1 pizza for 2 people, really , funny , ... The bartender was the only one given the number of guests ever was pleasant, but sometimes vice versa poisoned to nasty. We understand it is not easy work from 10 hours to 17 hours in the heat and himself ( before they were 2 bartenders ) , but on the other hand, to paying guests may not be interested . Lunch in the restaurant was also very limited, so roughly 50%. Dinner was also weak , was an Italian chef - there were no pasta , grill did not work , or pizza as usual, very small selection of fruit ( oranges stale and infected at the end of even just dry and acidic grapefruit , watermelon red gave us only 1 for 12days ... Food is constantly repeated , in substance, just chicken and rice , etc. , sometimes tough beef , or rather a camel , a poolside almost always missing ice cream , pancakes were not , ( here - they have always done before ) , i came to diet and less seasoning . would have understood if it was a smaller amount of food given the number of guests , but is otherwise unacceptable to repeal the current board on the beach or barbecue , pizza and pasta for dinner preparation , or cancellation of afternoon pancakes or ice cream ... Lift for old people to the restaurant also did not work , shut it off ....

Hotel , beaches , surroundings: The essentials - Bay - fortunately they were very nice, unfortunately, even in the morning quite murky , so getting up early at 5 am was a necessity , but a big advantage was the guest minimum and thus super snorkeling ... We saw indeed perhaps all - Ziba , moray eels , stingrays , poisonous scorpion fish, octopus , various colorful fish and beautiful coral fish , rays , green turtles and rights, puffer fish , Ježík and even sharks lagoon ... etc. There are also beautiful zevy all brilliant color ... Brilliant ... So beautiful and unforgettable snorkeling fortunately gave to forget the negative and bad service during our visit , ie from 5th to 16 September 2013 . One day we even snorchlovali this time until the next hotel Brayka Bay, distant about 2 km , it was challenging but unforgettable experience and Poznan .... I would say , however , that the bay in Orientale is more beautiful to amazing coral to the beauty and variety of animals. .. This must assess each sam ... On the beach unfortunately lacked the lifeguard who drive whistled for unruly guests to walk in buoys into the restricted area, where they grow new coral, people walking on corals , broke it and destroying new growth . If this continues so forth , not in five years what to watch ... incomprehensible behavior of some people ... The beach was this time a lot of scruffy , untidy , littered with trash everywhere , which I daily morning and evening gather, there was simply no longer to watch the Egyptians had really oblivious , comfortable and lines ... Every so 5-6 baskets full of ... volleyball court also untidy and generally hygiene was not the best hotel , such as cups on the beach bathed in running water from the tap, the bar was still a mess , as well as the pool and purity certainly never here neoplýval cups ... The hotel grounds were nice , however , at least garden was maintained carefully , gardeners are working well.

Guest of the hotel staff : waiters and bartenders at the restaurant were mostly friendly and smiling , especially Mahmoud , Emad Ali and bartender at the piano bar at the reception was super fast and friendly. But unfortunately the pool barman forever missed . Then i 3 Egyptian animators were completely useless , not a morning yoga, zumba , aerobics, dance the afternoon , aquagim in the pool, etc. etc. just nothing ... The beach was a lot of garbage , is incomprehensible that time of the hotel no guest, managment did not use the personal to the beach and grounds cleaning and or repairs to many shortcomings in the hotel grounds. During the stay came a new hotel manager , but its function at all could do, nothing done for clients , all complaints at the reception ( eg malfunctioning lighting between the pool and the block 12 - walk up the stairs and the way the entire week completely dark ) as well as delegates came to empty constantly just promises , it would be unable to replace the manager of this hotel! ! Original manager managed everything better .... I would like to again commend super delegates - p.Hanafyho - by CK Blue Style, who lived directly in this hotel, We are always willing to listen , trying to make ends meet , even though we were tentokát at the CK Fischer .

The overall impression of the staff approach : If I stay only be assessed in terms of the beauty of underwater life in the bay Jabal Al Rosas and SUPER Again , we think this is always a priority for a holiday, we love the sea and snorkelling ... However, if the hotel remains in the hands of so bad of Management , hence neodpovídajícícho service categories due to the hotel ( ofic. Egypt . Categ . 5 * even ! ) And this time the hotel unfortunately I can not recommend it .... And there we were so looking forward .. . And to evaluate the weak 3 * .... Alas ... PS : If you meet here only cat ( file - yet - kote ) and her caress and feed , remained only a 5- siblings, other cats unfortunately not alive, said to have poisoned According to the bartender, bad water ( on - spraying weed ) . We found a playground in the hotel grounds and tiny frightened kitten , so let him eat too .. Thanks ... PPS : At the hotel during our holiday created a good bunch of Czechs , if any of them will read and Greet : Honza + Aneta , Sama + Iva , Karla + Paul , + Paul Milana , Zdenka, George, another guest of Jiri wife but also other nice people from our group of Czech ... Hi all .... Have a very, very nice ... And see you again somewhere sometime .....

Room Tip: The best rooms are on the block numbers 1-4 and 12-14

Really good hotel with good services but not fantastic. On the pool bar was fantastic barman, his name is Ayman. His service was unbeliveable for us. Another services were standart. We stayed at Oriental Bay in July 2013.

We stayed at Oriental Bay with some family in July 2013, and although we enjoyed ourselves and generally found the hotel to be of a good standard, there were a number of faults with it that can't be ignored.

First of all, the good points:

- The hotel, as the name suggests, is situated on a bay which offers some great snorkelling and swimming. There is also a bar and towel hut at the beach, which means you don't have to carry any drinks or towels to or from the hotel.
- The rooms were clean and spacious and really cannot be faulted.
- Most of the staff, although not all, are very friendly and are especially good with kids.
- General lay-out of the hotel is good and rarely does it feel crowded (with the restaurant being the exception)

As for the bad points:
- Seats! This is one thing the hotel is seriously short of, no matter where you are or what you're doing. If you arrive at the beach any later than 10.30 AM, the pool after 9 AM, the restaurant before 8 PM, or the entertainment area after 8.30 PM, then you'll have to make do with the ground. For a hotel that prides itself on being relaxing, I didn't find it particularly enjoyable or relaxing having to schedule your day just so that you can get a seat in any of the above.
- The restaurant. Breakfast and lunch were perfectly fine, but when dinner starts at 7 PM, expect pure mayhem. If you arrive any later than 7.05, you'll be lucky to find a seat and will likely be queuing for your food for quite a while. On one occasion we finally found a seat, only to find the waiter had cleared it and had seated another couple whilst one of us was up getting food and the other was at the toilet (we had drinks on the table and one of the meals was half-finished so it was visibly clear we weren't finished). The food selection is also relatively poor, although I generally found the food that they did make to be of a good standard.
- At least 3 members of the bar staff could touch up on their customer service. 2 were quite openly rude with me and I witnessed one other guest being on the recieving end of some verbal abuse simply because she asked for one more drink after the bar staff had completed her order.

To sum up, it's a good enough hotel, but if it's at full capacity (or close to full), then I get the feeling that the hotel simply can't cope with the numbers. The faults I had with it can easily be resolved by providing more seats, monitoring the bar staff more closely, and adjusting the eating times at the restaurant. If the latter opened even an hour earlier (at 6 pm), then this could make a massive difference to the general mayhem of the place. Since the pool and beach areas are closing at 6 PM, then this is giving people time to get washed and changed, resulting in everyone hitting the restaurant at the same time (i.e. 7 PM). If the restaurant opened when the pool and beach areas are still open, then chances are the influx of people would be more staggered.

After visiting the Oriental Bay last year, we returned again this year as it was an absolutely perfect holiday (in 21 years we have never returned to the same resort until now!) the diving and snorkelling in the bay is beautiful, and being a bay, doesn't get big waves or currents. The service on the beach, provided by the hotel, was as before, excellent. Drinks towels and food are provided at the beach as well as entertainment and a kiddies play area. The hotel itself was immaculately kept with the hygiene and cleanliness top grade. All the staff, from the initial receptionist right the way down to the cleaners and gardeners, are very friendly. The resort isn't too close to any towns but the resort does have shops so souvenirs can be bought. You could not wish for a better holiday. Thank you to mr Walid and all his staff for a most enjoyable and relaxing holiday. We look forward to seeing you again next year.

CHECK IN
We stayed at hotel from 30/6/2013 to 11/7/2013. First day we had some troubles with room but finally it was solved.I want to say that front desk can give you keys at 2 p.m. and we arrived in the morning but all guests got keys in 30 minutes. It was nice.
ROOM
Our new room was superior kind, bedroom, bigger bathroom and living room with kitchen (no sense, because no shops around, no cooker) and balcony with sea view. Safe box for free, one lier of water a day (1 or 2 bottles), very comfortable beds. Be prepared for moskitos, they are mainly around main building but take some repellent with you.
HOTEL AREA
Area of hotel consist of central building (reception, bar, restaurrant at 1st floor, fitness center at 2nd floor) and Hauses with apartments. We stayed in house no.2, had a good housekeeper. Hotel is 3 years old. Has pool bar and table tenis and billiard for free. Toilets and bathrooms in area was clean was is important to me.
BEACH
To the beach you have to pass through road, 2 guys are helping with crossing the road. At beach there is a bar also with cooking simple food (pizza), showers and toilets. Towels can be exchnged at beach and also at pool. No problems with chairs or parasols. Beautiful coral reef. VERY IMPORTANT TO ME was that beach is in a bay, no big waves, sandy entrance. Could swim and dive any time.
GUESTS
Nationalities of guests are mainly czech, slovak, polish, italian, german egyptian and danish. Italians have their own animation team.
FOOD
Food was not huge variety but good tasted. I only missed bacon at breakfast. Always some fish, beef, grilled and frest vegetables, pastas, pizza, rise, potatos,...european style of food. Every main course you have at least 3 kinds of fresh fruit (usually more). Coffee from machines, coctails, ice teas, etc.
STAFF
I was really surpised how nice they are. After Hurgada experience I was worried about bothering. In Oriental Bay are working very nice peole, I had nice time with Mustafa at beach bar, Ahmed at pool bar and also others.

Room Tip: Be carefull what you buy. Hotel provide classic rooms (2 separate bedrooms with own bathrooms but wi...
