“One week at the hotel”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 December 2011

It was an excellent hotel. I got room nr 5166 that was very good, with Sun in the morning. All room that starts with 5 is good. It layed between the beach and restaurant. The people working there were extremely service minded, nice and polite. The only drawback with the hotel is the food. It was a little tasteless food without spices, but since it was buffet, it was always possible to get something that was ok. The cakes was terrible sweet. If you go to this place or other resorts here, you are stuck at the hotel and the trips they arrange. Taxi is impossible to get on the street and very expensive to order from hotel. You can not get around on your own. The very best with this place is the amazing underwater life. I have been many times to the Read sea, but never seen reef like this. For me it looks like they look much better after it than they have done in Hurghada and Sharm El Sheik. But still it is ignorant people stepping on the corals and touching the turtles. You should absolutely go with the boats to different snorkelingspots. Then you will maybe be able to swim with both delphins and sea cow. If you stay at this hotel, it is a MUST to get up early in the morning and go to the right on the beach for 10-15 min. Ther you can swim with the huge turtles and also maybe see the sea cow. I went there just around sunrise. Then I was alone. More people came an hour later. Rent and underwater-camere at extra divers ( 22€ half day). Take first pictures of the turtles, then go back to the main beach and snorkle quite a bit to the north and take pictures there. Give it back one o clock and they will give you a CD with the pictures. Worth every €. There it is fantastic corals and extremely much fish. Almost as nice as were the boat took me.
This is a typical family hotel and single people will maybe feel a little lonely. Dahab is a good place for solo travellers.

Not talking side effects of Pharoah's Revenge here, but the very strong winds that blow on the Red Sea coast in December! (all year acc. to some people, only in the winter acc. to others!). It really was a pain in the a***, and I even had my meal blown away on one memorable occasion! Furniture, books, even drinks, were blown over, and it gives you a headache sometimes!
However, this is not the the fault of the hotel, which is really lovely, with beautiful gardens and a brilliant beach area. Rooms are spacious, comfortable (so long as you like very firm mattresses!) I do, but soft mattresses are supplied upon request). The staff were superb, nothing was too much trouble. Food pretty good (could be hotter at times, but tasty and no bad tummy), and all/inc drinks most definitely full strength!
The location is very good, 60kms north of Marsa Alam town, and about 1km from the beautiful but slightly upmarket and sterile resort of Port Ghalib. A place of waterways and lagoons, it is very attractive, but just seemed to me to be lacking a bit of soul. You can go and visit via walking, minbus, horse, camel or quadbike. All are available at the hotel/beach at very reasonable prices. You can also go into the amazing desert.
The beach has a very long jetty out over to the reef wall. Sadly this was red-flagged for snorkelling/ swimming almost all the time I was there. Divers were luckier and the hotel has its own dive club to explore the absolutely superb reef which runs from Port Ghalib almost to infinity down the coast. Amazing large and healthy corals, plus turtles to be seen (I saw them from the Seascope Sub).
The hotel's entertainment team work hard but they do tend to be a little bit "Hi-De-Hi"!
The only downside, apart from the winds, for me was the high mosquito population due to the garden watering giving them somewhere to breed. Apart from that I thought it a lovely hotel and would go back there.

Room Tip: 2 storey blocks tend to be nearer reception/restaurant/pool. Bungalows are really lovely but can be...

I went here during december 2011 and it's my third time in egypt. The hotel is not based like many other hotels as apartments, it's a more "bungalow" feeling over the rooms. Nice pools that are 27 degrees and also a wonderful jacuzzi with 32 degrees. There's always empty sunbeds both at the pool and down at the beach. Snorkeling is one of the strongest sides for this hotel as it has three different places you can enter the water and one of them is a lagoon that is protected from the waves and currents, however the days that it's not windy you will find superb snorkelling at the third ladder down to the water and trust me on this one; it's really superb. There's a beach called commonly as "turtle beach" about 10 minutes walk from the hotel which basically is the home of a nice turtle family. The rooms are nice and comfy and if you stay there for a long time you might get bored with the food, but i stayed for a week and still enjoyed it everyday. There was also a solution that could always be had and that was to together with the chef make your own pasta sauce and have pasta and this really can be goldworth if you don't feel like the food that there is that day. This was my first trip abroad without any parents or other adults and we found no problems with the trip whatsoever that the personnel couldn't fix. There's no words that can describe how great the personnel is at the hotel and every single thing that we had the smallest issue with was fixed. The bad things about the hotel...Hmm...One thing that vould be seen as bad is that the beds feel quite hard and the only "bad" thing i thought of that had with the hotel to do was that it was abit too hard rules and abit too much looking at the clock with the all-inclusive. It gets abit silly when you're told that you can't have an ice-cream because the ice-cream opens in three minutes. But to sum it all I'll strongly recommend. A 5/5 and no doubt about it - I'll be back!

Went with 2 friends to the Fayrouz hotel to enjoy our holiday.
The hotel is only a short drive from the airport, liked that!!
Your holiday starts in +/- one hour afther arrival in Egypt.
In the hotel we got a warm welcome from the management.

Everyone is very nice, the food is very good. There is a lot of choice at breakfast, lunch and diner. Compliments for the chef!
Went 3 times to the Spa for a relaxing massage, my sholders are less stressed than before. The staff at the Spa was/is competence. The atmosphere and the bench in the Spalobby were very relaxing.

The animationteam, and specially Fabio were great. Instead of my plan to only lay down at the pool, i joined the aquagym, the morning stretching and the bellydance lessons.
The fun, sun and relaxingtime made it possible that i became at the age of 39 Miss Hotel :)

Thanks for a lovely week.
I was very jealousy that my friends stayed on other week and i had to go home for work :(

We have just returned from one week at the Three Corners Fayrouz with two other couples.
Two divers, four non divers.
Rooms, bright and large and well equiped
Bathroom,clean with all facilities required,
Food, good and varied, perhaps the salads could have been a little more imaginitive.
Reception staff extremely helpful with organising return shuttle to airport and photocopies of passports for diving permits.
Bar/ waiting staff very freindly and helpful.
Animation staff especially Fabio freindly and always happy to stop and chat.

Room Tip: We asked for sea views and got the rooms nearest the beach!

This was our second visit in 3 months and each time we enjoyed an excellent holiday. The hotel is in a quiet area and is only 10 minutes away from the brand new airport. If you prefer peace and quiet then this is the hotel for you!
The food, service, staff, beach and gardens are all first class and are keenly overseen by the General Manager Mr Haggag,
Our one big regret is that Thomsons have stopped the flights from Manchester, but given the chance we would have no hesitation in returning to this hotel.

Together with my wife Karina we stayed at the Fayrouz Plaza Beach from the 1st until the 14th of November 2011.

This is our second visit at this resort, and although we did not think it was possible, the standards of service, cleanliness and staff attitude have actually improved.
Being as we are in the trade for many-many years, we have had the good fortune of staying, for work or pleasure, in high class Hotels and Cruise Liners all over the world.
We are very pleased to be able to acknowledge that we were particularly impressed with the mind-set of all staff, without exception, but especially front office Manager Mr Habbas and Sameh in reception who are tremendously helpful and pleasant at all times. Absolutely nothing is too much trouble, at any hour of day or night.
Amazingly, all members of staff, from towel-beach attendant Mohammed to all waiters and barmen and even the “Camel Ride” operator Ali, actually remembered our names, and what we liked to eat or drink from over a year ago.
We believe that Fayrouz Plaza Beach offers standards far above its 4* classification, and this can only be due to the hard work and professionalism of the General Manager Mr Haggag and all his heads of department, whom obviously spend lots of time training and coaching their staff.
It is clear that every member of the team is content and grateful to work at the Fayrouz Plaza, and this contributes to the lovely atmosphere that can be felt everywhere; even the gardeners are always cheerful.
All restaurant staff without exception offer an efficient and always joyful service. A special mention must go to our friend “Shehata” who looked after us impeccably breakfast, lunch and dinner; we never once had to ask for anything, as he always had everything under control, despite sometimes having lots and lots of demanding guests.
Please accept our heartfelt thanks for another two lovely relaxing weeks and hopefully we will see you again in January.

Vincenzo & Karina
