This definitley isn't the most impressive glacier, but you can walk right up to it and touch it. It's a short walk from the parking area and definitely worth it.

We stopped at Worthington Glacier on our way to Valdez. There is an observation area. Then we noticed people up near the glacier so we decided to give it a go too. We walked right up to the glacier and touched it. I don't know what the possibility is but I started getting nervous thinking that maybe a piece might fall off the glacier so I didn't stay long. I only took 1 picture of the glacier up close. Now I regret that we didn't take more time and get some pictures of us up close and personal with the glacier.

Very accessible for seniors and young children to the observation area. Took us about 20 mins to climb to the base of the glacier past the observation area.

We walked right up to it and didn't have to worry about a crowd! There were two hikers coming down as 3 of us went up. All by ourselves

We traveled the to the Thompson Pass and stopped to see the Worthington Glacier. We were shocked to see that it was possible to actually walk up to the glacier's edge and touch it. If you are in the area it is worth seeing.
