We enjoyed our stay with Laura for one evening. Nice accommodations, although room was a little small. We stayed downstairs, and were only ones in B & B, so it was really quiet. Laura was super friendly and helpful. Would recommend this location.

Laura is very nice and very informative when it comes to things to do around Valdez. She had a work emergency early in the morning so couldn't make breakfast, but instead stayed up the night before making muffins which were excellent. Rooms were very nice and the value was great. My only problem was my girlfriend and I had to leave early in the morning so we did not get the chance to say a proper goodbye. We will stay again! Thanks Laura!

Laura is really nice and hospitable and her B&B is clean and comfort. The place of the B&B is about 5 mins away from so-called downtown of Valdez but you can easily find it. Maybe it's not the best, but definitely it's a good choice in Valdez.

Room Tip: we booked the room downstairs, it's ok.

I stayed in L&L over the memorial day weekend. We stayed in the downstair bedroom. When I first walked in, the room did smell like wet socks. I don't have a good sense of smell, so I was not really bothered by it. The room looked clean, but it seemed to be old. The shower was clean and the breakfast was okay. With the price of L&L, I would say other B&Bs I stayed in (but not in Valdez) were better.

My wife and I toured Alaska for a month, the last 10 days of which were spent at B&B's. As our daughter is a sea kayak guide in Valdez, we stayed here for 3 nights while visiting her. Alaska is fairly expensive and the quality of accommodations varies widely. As we were on such a long trip and staying here for 3 nights, we were not looking for the most elegant or expensive place to stay at each stop. This house is quite lovely and spacious in a nice residential neighborhood. We found it to be clean and quiet. The mix of international guests made breakfast conversation interesting. Yes, breakfast was fairly basic. The owner has another day job. But she was helpful and accommodating. We had no issues sharing a spacious bathroom. Valdez itself is in a spectacular setting, surrounded by glaciers, snow-capped mountains and wildlife on Prince William Sound. We paddled around glaciers and watched bears and 2000 pound stellar sea lions feasting on salmon. With all that, why pay more for a few hours of fleeting luxury when you can stay in a perfectly lovely house with privacy and a perfectly adequate breakfast at reasonable rates.

This lady works hard to bring you:

A spectacular house.
An meticulously clean, immaculate house.
Cozy, friendly environment.
A good breakfast.
Free wireless.

We booked no rooms for our trip because we wanted to be free to travel when and where we wanted. We rolled into Valdez about 8PM and looked at the over-priced hotel. We weren't impressed. So we looked in our Lonely Planet guide and saw this place got a high rating. We called and she said she had a room with a shared bath. It took 4 minutes to get there from downtown.

Talk about friendly, helpful and interesting. Wow. Anything we needed to do was alright with her. We slept late even though she comes home from her day job at noon to change the sheets. I needed to do some wash and she has a beautiful washer and dryer with a coffee can on top to put a couple bucks in to pay for the soap and water.

Laura gave us great advice on what to see and do in Valdez. She has a sheet on the counter titled: 101 things to do in Valdez. We noticed something about a hidden staircase, so we went looking for it. It took us a while (10 extra minutes) but we finally found it. It's something like 100 stairs up to a lookout with a panoramic view of Valdez. And this one bald eagle kept flying over it. Amazing.

The view from the windows are breathtaking. She has lots of picture windows.

Contrary to the complainers who reviewed this place, it WAS NOT dirty, smelly, cold, musky, damp, or anything but very comfortable.

Staying here is like visiting your aunt's house in a far away, magical place. The kind of visit that you remember forever. I have the pictures to prove it. Take a look at the one's I attached.

If you can get in here, don't miss it. The Lonely Planet guide told us so.

The home was well maintained in a subdivision of similar homes. The room and shared bathroom were clean, the living room had a TV and lots of travel information which was at the disposal of guests. There was no hot breakfast - just cold stuff like cereal, rolls, etc.
