Once you have your expectations set about this hotel, it is just fine. There is no lobby and the office is not open 24 X 7. In fact, after normal hours you use a PIN code to access the building (the office can still be contacted after hours if needed). But our room was plenty spacious and included kitchenette facilities. And the room was clean and the hotel quiet. It was a great one night stopover for us on our way from Denali to Seward.

This place is really kind of strange. No lobby or public areas, in a real out of the way location and the staff are all busy multi tasking in every job imaginable. But it was easy to find, not far from the main drag, rooms were very comfortable and CLEAN. The staff was so nice, helpful and really seamed to want us to be happy (acted like a family operation?). 2 washers and 2 dryers upstairs in the Guest laundry saved us a trip to the laundry mat. Generally it was a very quiet night with no hallway noise but we could hear EVERYTHING the room above us did. Thank goodness they seamed to mostly be interested in getting a good nights sleep too. Best of all it was the cheapest place we found in Alaska and we would defiantly stay here again if we are ever back in the area.

I have traveled to Wasilla many times on business and pleasure and was looking for something off the main drag. This hotel caught my eye. It was still on a main highway, but it was not a problem for me. My room was on the neighborhood side of the hotel. They bragged about how clean their rooms were, and that most definitely was the case, but the hallways and stairs were dingy and well worn. The room was big, had a kitchenette, but it was the little things that got to me. The TV remote didn't work, only half the buttons on the microwave worked (I had to press 3:59 if I wanted a 4 minute meal), the refrigerator defrosted all over the floor leaving an icy puddle right in front of the door, and the toilet stopped up after the second night. The staff did fix the toilet but didn't address any other problems-- I was there for a week.

Room Tip: Try to stay on the side of the hotel away from the busy highway. No elevators to second floor. The o...

We had a good sized room with a full kitchenette for $80. No complaints, and Nicole(I think that was her name) was very helpful and accommodating with information about the area!
People need to realize that it isn't a 5-star hotel or a B & B. It is simply a comfortable place to stay at a good value. For a hotel the bathroom was very large(that might appeal to some people).

This is an unusual property. It is not right in Wasilla, it's in a neighborhood. There is no lobby or anything, just a couple of floors of hotel rooms. They advertise laundry facilities, but they use them for laundering sheets, so they are not really available. The room was O.K., but nothing special. The exterior areas were fairly dirty. Overall not a really inviting place to stay.

We stayed at Alaska's Select Inn for a sporting event at Wasilla High School. The hotel is about 2 miles from the Wasilla High on the same road (Bogard). The map directions take you a different way but it is on the corner of Bogard and Palmdale. The room was immaculate. We rented the double queen and would recommend spending the extra $10 or so for the larger room if you are planning on using the kitchen. I think the double queen room might be the smallest & had space for only one barstool at the end of the counter so the kids had to eat on the beds. The kitchen is really handy and very clean. It is a bit odd coming into the motel- the office is in the middle of the first floor hallway and not really marked, but with only 15 rooms you can find it. The staff was very nice and the location is ideal if you need to get to the high school.

Room Tip: Rooms facing Bogard do have road noise. Didn't bother us but might bother some.

We very pleased with our stay here. Kitchenette was great for fixing our own meals in the room. The room was clean and beds were crazy-comfortable (pillow-top mattress). The staff was very accommodating. Highly recommend.
