My wife and I stayed here overnight on a trip from North Pole to Anchorage, I hate to stay in the city and was looking for something different and did we find it. The day we checked out, we were fortunate and all the rooms were vacant and being cleaned, all of them with a different theme and all of them looked like a lot of fun to stay in, most with local pieces in the room reflecting the theme or local history, and each has a fair sized stained glass window identifying the room, very nice touch!

Breakfast as noted many times here was super. If it is available, the suite is the way to go! it is more private as it is away from the hall so it is much quieter and larger. All of the regular rooms are nice with their own private bath room, except one.

When making our reservation, all three types (price range) were available, I discussed them with my wife and we selected the less expensive room because we were only going to stay the night, we were surprised when we checked in and found there was no bathroom in our room, you had to go down the hall to the community rest room to show and use the toilet. While the community rest room is very nice, I hated making the trip down the hall two or three times during our stay. When i discussed it the next day with the owner, she said the web-site did identify that room did not have a restroom in it, and I did return to the web-site and find where it was listed, but had to look for it. Sorry I cannot remember the name of the room, but it is the least expensive one listed. Still a nice room and we slept well, just beware of the rest room situation.

Having recently started staying in B & B's, breakfast in the morning with the other guests is part of the experience and it was great here, the owner knows the area well and made great recommendations on where to eat and tourist things to do for the others that stayed.

I am looking for an excuse to go south again so I have a chance to stay here again, only regrets two from our first stay; not seeing I was reserving the ONLY guest room that did not have a private bath room, and the biggest mistake, only being able to stay one night. If you are in this area, dont make a mistake staying somewhere else, reservea a room here and enjoy!

Great food for breakfast. Interesting people. Good location. All-around good stay--recommend. Converted dairy barn with a view. Owner operated--which is always a plus. Owner had knowledge of area and history so made it interesitng. We ask a lot of questions.

This B&B is located in a beautiful rural part of Wasilla, and staying here was much nicer than a regular city motel.

We had the Iditarod Room, and this was very spacious and furnished with interesting artifacts related to Alaska’s dog sled history. In fact there was even an old dog sled bolted to the wall with other historical figures and pictures. It really gives you the feeling that you are in Alaska. The room was nice and clean with fresh bed sheets. There is one large Queen size bed for the adults, plus 2 x smaller single beds for the kids.
The bathroom was huge and had a nice large tub.

The other rooms have different themes, but I was happy with the Iditarod room. The room layout is similar to a hotel, all in a row with a corridor that leads to a large games/recreation room.

Breakfast was served as buffet style, and we met some nice people at the huge communal breakfast table.

The most amazing part of this B&B is the glorious views of the surrounding mountains. They even have a sitting area in an observation room up stairs, kind of like a glasshouse to keep you warm yet still enjoy the views of the mountains.

This lovely property is just a few minutes drive from the Walmart Supercenter, Sears, and Wasilla eating places a bit further down the highway.

We (family of three) stayed at the Pioneer Ridge B&B for one night as our transition point to Denali National park. The place is gorgeous inside and out with sweeping view from Aurora Room. What a spectacular 360 view with double rainbow painted on it!
The room we stayed at is lovely Denali room with nice clean comfy bed and stylish bathroom with glass bowl sink, which our son is particularly fond of. There are many common places you can relax or hang out with other guests.
The breakfast is another highlight of the stay. There were many delicious hot breakfast choices and the hostess was wonderful in keeingp all her guests comfortable. We really enjoyed having breakfast with other guests to share travel experiences.
It was a wonderful place to stay and we wish we could stay longer. We will definitely recommend this place to our friends.

My boyfriend and I decided very last minute to travel from Fairbanks to Palmer to attend a comedy show at the state fair so we were unbelievably lucky to find any room at this b&b. We try to be budget travelers with uncompromised standards and Pioneer Ridge was made us feel like...well that we had more time to stay! I highly recommend this to anyone traveling through Wasilla; you may not be able to see Russia but you most certainly can see heaven.

Room Tip: We stayed in the little cabin right outside the main building which was the only room left at the ti...

Six of us stayed their on teo separate occasions at the Pioneer Ridge B&B. It was one of the highlights of our 2 weeks vacation in Alaska. The first night we stayed in The rooms named Fishing and Denali. We came back after 4 days and stayed in a suite named The Alaska Suite, which sleeps 8. The rooms were large and very comfortable, the owners Shannon and Lenny were the most gracious hosts. They served the an incredible breakfast, made fresh every day, they treated us like family and they made us feel at home. The Inn is surrounded by the mountains, inside you find beautiful Alaska decor and a large sitting area and the patio with a nice clean grill is perfect to grill your fresh catch. We all enjoyed our stay south so that we are considering another trip to AK and we will for sure stay at Pioneer Ridge as we make over way to Homer.

We had booked one night stay here but were so fascinated by the setting, the inn, the breakfast and the hostess that we decided to stay there 2 more nights.
The rooms are lovely, especially the suite where we stayed. it had a kitchenette, a bathroom, laundry machine and everything you could need. I would love to go back some day. The hostess cooked us special breakfast once she found out we were vegetarians.
You can see the huge mountains from the awesome lobby and we even saw a rainbow right there in front of the mountains. the lobby had huge glass windows that give a fantastic view of the mountains.
Very clean, perfect for a family or a couple. I cannot say enough about how great this place was!!

Room Tip: If you are with the family choose the suite, it is awesome!
