“Quaint and Compfy”

This is a 'Mom and Pop" Bed and Breakfast. They do all the cooking, cleaning and making up the rooms. So don't plan on getting there early because the front door is locked until 3 PM. Bring cash to pay for anything extra, like the room tax or t-shirt.
I had found a Groupon coupon and I knew my wife would love to take another trip to Bisbee. The weather was perfect but cold at night. There is a space heater in the closet which I should have used that evening.
John is very friendly and Paula is a little reserved, but they both made the experience of staying there enjoyable. The place reminded me up the days as a child. The room had lots of books and old antique rugs.
There is no TV's or radios, vending machines or ice machines. If you want to bring a soda or snack back to the room, you can stop off at the Circle K which is a half mile or less down the road, The bathrooms were small but adequate. The shower was fantastic, immediate HOT water.
The next morning, breakfast was whatever John and Paula decided to cook. They were serving a quiche which was very light, cinnamon sugar on half an English muffin, a small muffin and fruit. The meal also comes with orange juice and coffee. For me, I'm a breakfast person and it just wasn't filling enough, but it sure was healthy.
We were glad we stayed there and hope to make another trip to Bisbee and Tubac.

Room Tip: We sat with a two couples, one from Alaska and the other from Minnesota. Their rooms seem to have be...

John the owner was welcoming and friendly and took personal pride in all the details. The breakfast was delicious and healthy and the rooms were bright and clean. We enjoyed meeting the other guests and got plenty of rest and relaxation.

I took my fiancé on a surprise trip to do something he had never done before, and found a Groupon for the School House Inn. When we arrived, the outside of the building was enough to stir excitement. After walking in, we were greeted by Jon and his absolutely ADORABLE wife, Paula. True to old school house style, the house was furnished with antiques, old pictures, classic books, and other various knick knacks. The rooms were very clean, and very large. Compared to the other hotels we viewed during the Ghost Tour ( ALSO RECOMMENDED), we noticed these rooms were almost the size of a rather comfortably sized apartment. The vibe was welcoming, the breakfast made by Jon and Paula was AMAZING! Instead of a regular plastic room key, you get an actual door key to one of the rooms. We were assigned the Library room, absolutely GORGEOUS! This place is a real home away from home. A place to feel welcome and relaxed... but definitely not a place to bring your bundles of joy, so those with little baby boo boo's, this is more of a mom and dad escape from crazy island kind of venue. Hope this helps, and happy traveling!

The owners of this are extremely nice and quaint. The wife & I love Bisbee, so when we saw a Groupon that was only $99 for 2 nights, we had to take it. Their website had pictures. Given the Groupon I called and made reservations immediately to make sure space did not fill up. Very pleasant on the phone and easy to work with. Since I had not been there before I had no idea which room to pick so I let them do it for me and they chose the music room. Very cozy, super clean and unbelievably quiet. I cannot stress enough just how quite it is. There is a notebook in each room and most everyone talks about how wonderful the breakfast is and that every day breakfast is different. Boy they weren't kidding in the least. Amazing fresh cooked food. We met a couple of really nice couples during breakfast and even found out about some places around town that we haven't been to yet. This place is worth every penny. After staying here, as long as we do not plan to do any paranormal investigations we will be staying here.

Room Tip: Any room you choose will be different from the others.

I just had my second stay at the School House Inn, and both times it's been a peaceful getaway. The inn is just far enough away from the Old Bisbee business district that it's quiet, but just a five minute drive will get you to the shops and restaurants. The old brick school house has been divided up into themed rooms, like the Art Room, the Reading Room, and range from smallish to large or two bedrooms and a sitting room with high ceiling and big windows. A lot of thought went into the decor—old books, toys, instruments, prints and knickknacks are endlessly fascinating, every room is different. Small baths, as often happens in converted old buildings; no tvs, radios, fridges or phones (there is wi-fi), so pretty peaceful within. I didn't miss any of it. It's kind of like going to your eccentric grandmother's house. The rooms in the front have sitting alcoves with a view of the hills across Tombstone Canyon. Breakfast is served in a comfortable room off a tree-shaded patio—the last time it was fresh fruit, eggs, a muffin and more. There are unavoidable stairs if that's a problem for you. Small park between the b&b and the road.
My only minor complaints are that any drinks or extras have to be purchased (most b&bs I've stayed in at least have iced tea and cookies or something sitting out), and there's no soundproofing between the rooms upstairs and the downstairs with the offices and laundry and common room. If you want maximum quiet I'd stay in the back rooms. Still, a great find in a sea of chain hotels.

Your comments were so thoughtful and kind. We thank you. You threw me off though on the last paragraph. Possibly I may have overlooked showing you where we have free coffee, tea (in a multitude of flavors), water, and popcorn. It's available to you 24-7. That's at no charge.

Just stayed here last weekend. the rooms are spacious with 12 foot ceilings and creaky floors. I thought I was going to hear every step from every other guest but I heard nothing from outside my room except occasionally the front door.
The place is old AND it's clean. Go figure, how do you pull that off? I don't know, but even the corners of the floor moldings are clean. Amazing. Linens were fresh and clean smelling, the rooms are very well decorated. Breakfast was terrific however it was not 'to order'. John made a great quiche, good thing I like it.
The outdoor patio has a lot of potted plants and they are healthy and well cared for, a wonderful place to relax at night or have coffee in the morning.

Room Tip: While it's a great place to stay it is not walking distance to downtown Bisbee.
