“Wild Horse Pass Resort & Spa”
Reviewed 26 November 2013

On entering the property you get a sense of spaciousness. The landscape is expansive as a golf course is also part of this resort. Love the wild feeling you get driving into the property. It would have to be at least 1km drive before you get to reception. The resort is low rise and flat, which fits in perfectly with the surrounds. You actually feel like you are in the desert.

On arrive the valet staff are very helpful and will even take your car and park it for you for a price. I dropped off my bags then went and parked my vehicle. It is important to know where your room as the buildings are wide spread over the property and they have provided several different car parks nearest to rooms.

Reception foyer is unique and rustic. Check in staff are fantastic and helpful. Pool area spectacular and the lobby bar was very relaxing. Given the resort is isolated having only one restaurant with medium priced meals very limiting. The menu was a mixed bag of choices and felt like it did not know what it wanted to serve. There is another restaurant but it is high end and not open very night. The pool area did have its own small eatery which served bar food, but given I was there on business did not use this. The Casino down the road had more choices and ended up driving there a couple of the nights to get a better selection of food.

Found the rooms very dark and no matter how many lights you put on was very hard to get light in. Also additional things like cotton balls to clean make off non existent and other small amentities like a shaver also non existent. Plastic cups was all that was avaialble to drink from and ended up bringing a glass of wine from the lobby bar so I could have a proper glass to drink from.

Overall it was a very plesant stay. The Premium Outlet stores are a short drive away which was handy.

Dear Guest,

Skek Thash (“Good Day” in Pima)! Thank you very much for your wonderful review of your recent stay with us at the Sheraton Wild Horse Resort and Spa! We are located on the Gila River Indian Community and we take great pride in infusing the history and culture of the Community into the Resort’s design, architecture, cuisine, and accommodations. The spacious nearby surroundings include the Komatke Mountains, the Whirlwind Golf Course, and the Koli Equestrian Center. We’re glad you appreciated the service you were provided at the front drive and during check-in, we are proud of the welcoming experience you encountered! We’re also happy that you enjoyed Hanyo (“oasis”) pool and the Lobby Bar. Featuring a fusion of American and Southwestern cuisine, Ko'Sin ("kitchen"), offers delectable dishes that we call desert bistro fare. Though you were not pleased with the variety of meals offered at Ko’Sin, we also thank you very much for sharing your feedback with us, this is very important to us. We change our menus seasonally, and we will consider more options, including lighter fare items for the business person such as yourself. As for the room amenities, we do offer vanity and shaving kits in the rooms for a minimal fee, including paper cups. We apologize if you did not receive these items and we will remind our housekeeping staff to ensure such items are available. You can also call Guest Services for glassware. Finally, although we would prefer you stay on property, we are delighted to hear that you were able to get out and enjoy the dining and shopping options available at the nearby Wild Horse Pass Casino and the Phoenix Premium Outlets. Again, we value and appreciate your review. We wish you well on your Journey and hope to see you again very soon.

Mova Sa’pe (Thank you)!

Due to terrible weather in the Northeast, we weren't able to make it to this property for a Thanksgiving getaway. Despite the fact that our reservation was non refundable, the staff graciously, and w/o hesitation, refunded the entire amount. Kudos to all and specific thanks to supervisor, Katrina. We hope to visit the Wild Horse in 2014.

I stay at this Sheraton frequently on my visits to the Phoenix area. The property is very beautifully laid out on a golf course and has many amenities. By far, the best amenity is all the amazing pieces of native american artwork that are located around the property. This hotel has gone out of its way to ensure that the heritage of the local native american tribes is explored by their guests.

The rooms are nice size with balconies or patios. The views are out of this world from sun up to sun down.

The one thing that I would point out for attention would be the wireless internet. The service is painfully slow and very spotty. Lost connections for no reason and just all around below average response time. I believe a little upgrade would fix this issue instantly.

Another note, this property is somewhat off the beaten path and about 3 miles or so off the interstate. Not really a big issue for me, as my meetings were only about a 10 minute drive away, but depending on where you will be for business, I would definitely research the location and traffic issues.

For those that like to gamble or shop, there is a casino and premium outlets within 2 miles and the hotel provides regular shuttle service. This is a great option for other dining options, as outside of the hotel options, there are not any restaurants in the immediate area.

My wife, 3 daughters, and I decided to stay at this resort while in town for the Nike XC regional meet. We wanted to stay away from the hotels where the runners were staying to avoid the stress of overthinking the race. We are so glad we did so. The resort is beautiful, and feels secluded even though it's ~ 2 miles off of Interstate 10 and accessible to any place in PHX. The rooms were clean and updated, with nice glass walk in shower, bath, and wood floors on the entry. We enjoyed breakfast in the hotel's restaurant daily. The resort staff were all very friendly and welcoming. We didn't get to try the pools as the weekend we were there PHX experienced a rare winter storm with drenching rains, which we actually enjoyed since we are from the southwest (NM). Finally, one night I was having car trouble and the valet attendants helped me out and got me on my way. Would definitely return.

My husband and I came for a week break from DC weather in November. The property is great, well kept. The pool was never over crowded, the room was very comfortable, the food was good to great (a bit pricey). We loved the views, local hiking, shopping, etc. my only complaints are 1) the pool bar isn't open tues-thurs. I guess we're off season and this is a very conference oriented facility but it's a bit of a bummer for us vacationers. 2) Aji spa was great, fantastic massage, but the sauna, steam, etc was a bit small and dated. Overall we are enjoying ourselves and we'd recommend it.

Room Tip: Ask to look over the pool, not the parking lot. Also, closer the the middle, rather than on the ext...

Dear Guest,
We would like to begin by thanking you for the time to provide feedback about your stay. It’s wonderful to hear you had time to enjoy many of the amenities that are both available on and surrounding our property. The pool is a nice experience and it is unfortunate that you were there during its rare closure. Additionally, we have shared your spa comments with the Aji leadership team and they are excited for some future upgrades that will relieve you of having these feelings. We are elated to see your overall experience was memorable and look forward to your future stays.

Definitely not your average Sheraton property - in a good way. Stayed here for business and onsite meetings in the convention center. Rooms are very nice and well decorated in a Native American theme without being overbearing. Beds and pillows were very comfortable and the entire property is immaculately clean. Service was excellent and a minor snafu at check- in was quickly resolved. Internet service was OK to poor most of the time with frequent drops and periodic reconnect ions required. The lobby bar was great, especially in the evening when we sat outside by the fire pit with a roaring blaze going. Great place to relax after a long day of meetings. I travel to this area often and will try this place again. If the internet service is better, this will become my hotel of choice in this area. Meeting rooms were excellent overall with very good service. Catering service was a little on the expensive side for smaller groups - 25+ seems to be the right number.

Stayed 2 nights to see a concert at nearby casino. Wifi you pay for in resort fee and is almost unusable in our room. Breakfast choices limited and $40 for 2 for pancakes and eggs. Come on people, down the road 5 min you get much better for $14 for 2. Nice golf course beside so played a round and wanted something to eat in the clubhouse after at 4:50pm and the only fellow on duty said sorry closed at 5. 4:50 is not 5. Not coming back to places that rip you off and can't provide service, simple as that.
