“What a gem, and free!”
Reviewed 15 August 2012

We were blown away by the western art in this museum, which has no entrance fee. The art is beautifully arranged and includes paintings, sculptures, native-american baskets, vintage guns and other pieces of western art. If you enjoy western art, and are in the Phoenix area, this is a must see.

“This is a gem.”
Reviewed 18 May 2012

We were surprised to find this gallery and thrilled that we did. It's in Chandler and not hard to find as they have excellent directions on their website. It's actually at the corporate office area and site of the original warehouse for Basha's food.

The gallery is free - which is unheard of. This place is a gem and not only does it display beautiful works of art, but its also a history lesson. It beautifully depicts the story of the cowboy and the settlers on there way to a new life in the west. It also depicts the Indians way of life and how they adjust to new people moving into their world.

There is so much to see you cannot possibly take it all in just in one visit. In addition to the paintings, there are many sculptures of all types, beautiful Kasinas, jewelry and more. I highly recommend this gallery.

“Wonderful Free Museum of Western Art”
Reviewed 22 April 2012

The Basha Salmeri Gallery of Western American and Native American Art should not be missed. It is a little hard to find and the outside of the building is not impressive, but once inside you are surrounded by beautiful paintings, bronzes, Native American baskets, pottery, fetishes, sculpture and jewelry. It is not open on weekends and is sometimes closed for maintenance. Call before coming: 480-895-5230. The gallery is located at 22402 South Basha Road in Chandler, AZ.

“A true Hidden Treasure”
Reviewed 10 April 2012

While the name has changed slightly since last year, this museum is a wonderful spot for a free visit to an outstanding collection of three generations of the Basha family - there are probably 100+ bronze sculptures, many Native American and western oil/acrylic, water color paintings, Native American baskets, Native American jewelry, and family memorabilia from artists accompanying their letters to members of the Basha family. This is a true undiscrovered treasure and one to be viewed by anyone with interest in Native American/Western culture. Don't miss the opportunity.
