“Great place”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 May 2013

We are so glad that we found this place! My family and I needed a place to rent out because I was getting married and we have a large family. My father found this place online, and we are so glad that we did. We were able to rent out 3 rooms, which was perfect for my family and I. The place is kept very clean, and the staff members are so friendly!
The bed and breakfast is on a gorgeous lot with lots of green and plenty of parking. We had our rehearsal dinner here, and the day of the wedding all the girls and guys got ready here. Since the bed and breakfast is different levels, we were able to have the girls downstairs and the boys upstairs. It was perfect!
If you are looking for a place to stay, I would highly reccommend this place, They are very accomodating, and its a perfect place to relax and enjoy Cottonwood.

We are so glad you found us! It was quite fun having your whole family stay with us during your big weekend!

As you mention, we do keep the Desert Rose meticulously clean both indoor and out and we do try our very best to make our guests as comfortable as possible.

For any other future brides and/or grooms who are thinking about choosing a wedding venue, the Verde Valley is a great choice. Unfortunately, we cannot do weddings here at the Desert Rose. On the other hand, you can book the whole bed and breakfast and we can help you find an appropriate venue for your big event!

Again, CONGRATULATIONS! Do come back and stay with us anniversary after anniversary!

My fiance and I stayed at the Desert Rose in May 2013 for 3 nights and enjoyed every moment we spent there. It was immaculately clean throughout and the surrounding gardens were a pleasure to walk around. The lounge area was spacious and luxurious and the dining table felt like you were royalty. The breakfast was delicious and served on beautiful crockery. The bedroom was spacious, well furnished and of course exceptionally clean. Sebastien was so friendly and made us feel very much at home throughout our stay. I highly recommend this to anyone looking for a relaxing stay in the area.

Room Tip: Treat yourself and go for a Deluxe Room!

It really thrills us when we are so appreciated!

We do always try to make all our guests feel like royalty, and yes, our breakfast is one of those areas. We do serve a healthy and plentiful breakfast which includes a great selection of organic items served on very fine china and delicate silverware!

We do pride ourselves on how clean we keep the indoor and outdoor areas, thanks for noticing that.

It was a great pleasure hosting you, we look forward to having you come stay with us.

My husband and I had a great trip to the Cottonwood area. My husband never stayed in a B&B and he enjoyed his experience immensly. We found it to be personable and comfortable environment. We stayed in touch with Sebastian via texting if we needed something and for our arrival time. I found that very convenient as we were out sight seeing and he was busy with the business. We spent time with the other guests on the patio which was enjoyable. I did feed the llama's which was fun and they love carrots. Breakfast was convenient and pretty quick but if looking for hearty meal will need to go out. We had a mini fridge in our full size room which we stocked with food/drink to decrease the cost of eating out for lunch/dinner. Our room was fabulous with our own bathroom and big comfy bed. The way to go is the full size room for privacy even if it costs more. Hiedi was a great tour guide for the wine tastings, she was very knowledgable about the area wineries. We were in close proximity to the wineries, Jerome, Old Cottonwood and Sedona. Great places to eat were Harry's hideaway and Quince. Overall trip was very fun and our stay was very nice.

Room Tip: I would recommend the full size room as it has a private bathroom and is a bit bigger.

We stayed last night and was extremely happy with this B&B. The room was spacious and very clean- the bathroom was just as clean. Additionally with the room we had, you have access to basically two living rooms, one for you or if you prefer, one on the main level where other guests will gather. We went to this level last night, shared some wine and stories, and had a great time. We found out on the way out they do accept dogs, something else to consider if you don't want to leave your loved ones behind. When you stay here, you have to go to old town Cottonwood for antiques and wine tastings. I believe they have at least 4 wine tasting rooms now plus a new tea house with a beautiful landscaping in the back. Also check out Abbey's restaurant, just a block before you hit old town. The owner is a chef who came from Florida, obviously tired of the big city life and hassle. Food was outstanding!

Room Tip: All the rooms are quiet, we stayed downstairs with a separate bath. Great room with easy access outs...

It tickles us silly when we are able to please guests which is our aim every time we have guests stay with us. We always try to go above and beyond to exceed guest expectations and it seems like we have done that in your case!

We do agree with you that our best room (The Full Size Deluxe), is the way to go. Alternatively, if travelers are on a more restricted budget, our Mid Size and Compact are more than suitable as they both have super comfortable King size beds! With our spacious indoor and outdoor areas, there is no need to stay in the room as plenty of privacy will be found all over our property. (If wanted of course!)

Old Town Cottonwood and the whole Verde Valley is hopping these days with plenty to do (Wine tasting, great restaurants, shops, antique shops, etc!). If that still does not fill your days, you can head to Jerome or Sedona which are respectively only 15 minutes away, making our central location ideal!

Thank you for taking the time to write this review. It was a pleasure having you here and we look forward to hosting you again soon.

My Daughter suggested Roomarama. We used it to book the "mid sized room" for 5 nights. We paid in advance, as per Roomarama policy.

I sent email the night before to confirm, no answer.
I called upon arrival to Phoenix. voice mail, no response
We arrived to Cottonwood at 3 pm. No one was there except 2 other guests that gave us Heidi's cellphone. She couldn't come to check us in because "I'm buying a car" The guests told us she does check in at 4pm. She told us to check ourselves in, "The keys are in the door" We took a look around noting that the pictures on the website are basically the common areas. The mid-sized room is a bedroom with a 1/2 bath. If we wanted to shower, we would need to share with the other room. Plus the full bath is right off the dining room. (The place is a house) We felt deceived and wanted to talk to the owner/manager and maybe work out something with the larger rooms upstairs, even if for only 1-2 nights. He was not available. Heidi again said "I'm buying a car, and I can't do the bookings!"

We waited around, but nobody showed up.

We decided to leave. We found nice accommodations in Sedona.

I find this service too slipshod.... what is worse, Roomarama is keeping the full fee, even though we did not stay. The owner accuses us of lying! this despite the fact that we paid in full in advance, traveled out of the way to go there, and were willing to make some arrangement...

Buyer Beware when using this "service"

YES, we are a B&B which is a house with rooms. EXACTLY what a B&B is supposed to be!

The first and most important lesson to be learned here is NOT to book accommodation through a THIRD PARTY as we have NO control on their policies and how they represent our B&B. Had you gone to our website and looked at the room description, you would have clearly seen that our Mid Size room has a private 1/2 bath and shares a full bath with the Compact room.

I am glad you were able to find nice accommodation in Sedona and hope you enjoyed our area. Next time you come back, perhaps you should book our Full Size Deluxe room DIRECTLY with us.

I am sorry that Roomorama is keeping your money because we will not receive any payment for this booking. A slipshod service indeed.

The villain here is the THIRD PARTY booking agent and again, the lesson to be learned is to always book accommodation DIRECTLY through the accommodation provider after having done thorough research.

Sebastion was great from start to finish. The house is very clean and the beds are wonderful. Breakfast is bagels and toast with some juices and coffee, nothing crazy so if you are really hungry I would suggest going out to eat otherwise its nice. The llamas were friendly. Be sure tograb some carrots and feed them.

I would definitely recommend Desert Rose to friends and family!

Room Tip: Master suite for sure with the connected bathroom!

We enjoyed our stay. The home was comfortable and the continental breakfast was served complete with china a very nice presentation. We would stay here again. We came to go wine tasting. Old Town Cottonwood was very close. Convenient location for exploring Jerome, Sedona and the Verde Valley. Frank and Roberta E

Thanks for commenting on our central location as we are basically 15 minutes from everywhere you would want to visit in the Verde Valley and within about 10 minutes from all wineries and tasting rooms!
