My wife and I have eaten at other Mimi's in the past - this being the first time at this location. It is easy to find - just a few seconds north of Interstate #10.

That evening, we both ordered the Bistro Bavette Steak with bordelaise sauce and seasonal vegetables. The steak was cooked exactly as requested (medium with just a hint of pink) + was very, very tender. Indeed, this was one of the best steak meals of this kind that we have had at any restaurant.

The restaurant was very clean. Staff were courteous and very, very helpful when we were looking for advice about which sauce to choose.

Went there thinking we would find some items on the menu for $6.99. Soup and salad was the only choice! So, I ordered Crepes Florentine for $8.99. It arrived with a Savory French Mornay sauce, which was way too heavy for tiny spinach crepes &/a petite salad. Waiter could care less. Service was terrible. My spouse ordered Tuna au Gratin w/petite salad for $8.99. The thick layer of melted cheddar on a very tiny croissant was way too heavy w/cheese and the tiny portion of tuna was tasteless! The salad barely had dressing and was bland. No bread or muffins were brought to the table which was Mimi's draw for many years. We looked around this, French Cafe and noticed tacky JAZZ banners on the walls. There were only two other tables being served. We waited a long time for our meals, only to be disappointed. This is not the restaurant that it used to be. Sorry, but we will not return.

Wife and I had lunch there today. Good food, served quickly and efficiently. Friendly staff, Good menu and prices. recently upgraded with new paint and decorations. The corn chowder was really great. My wife had a cobb salad. She said it was good, but the lettuce was wet. it would have been better if it had been blotted.

We had a group of eight guys looking for a place to eat on a Sunday after a morning round of golf. One of the guys wanted to hit an In-and-out Burger which was swamped. While he waited for fast food, the rest of the group went across the street to Mimi’s and found a much better class of food.

Mimi’s was a little crowded, probably the after church crowd, but we found space at the bar. The service was quick and the server and bartender were both very friendly. The kitchen was a little slow with our orders, but the server kept us busy with fresh, warm bread (some sort of Italian rolls and a fruit loaf; both were excellent. We ordered an array of salads and sandwiches, all of which looked very appetizing. I had a club sandwich with a side of fruit and it was delicious.

The only knock on the place was the kitchen was a little slow. Our server was very apologetic and the manager took care of us with a little discount off the tab (10% as I recall), so that worked out well.

Overall, this was a very positive experience. I would certainly return.

Went for dinner around 6 PM and despite obvious empty tables we were told there would be a 5 to 10 minute wait. This was after we waited 5 minutes for the host to appear. Food is mediocre at best despite the fancy French sounding menu. Use this place only as a last resort though chances are you will still have to wait.
