“Spring Training Tip”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 March 2013

We stayed here 5 days in March 2013 while attending spring training (baseball). This hotel had it all: customer service, comfort and cleanliness of rooms and convenience (location). Two staff members in particular deserve honorable mention: Annie (Dir. of Sales) and Amanda (Front Desk). Top notch people. It is down the street from the Goodyear Ballpark and w/in 10-15 minutes to other ballparks that are in Glendale/Peoria area. Only downside we saw was the breakfast: food was good but they did not have that big of a selection; fruits were a minimum and did not seem that fresh. A suggestion on milk/juice products: use cartons so people w/special dietary needs may have a choice, i.e., nonfat, 1% and 2%. Evidentally this is dictated by the company and not the management for that particular property. Coffee was available 24/7 and was always HOT. The cookies that come out every afternoon were the best! Pool and gym were great and the pool water was like bath water!! For pet owners: allowed in first floor rooms only and charge a one-time $25 fee which is very reasonable. There is a huge lawn area next to hotel where pets would enjoy walking. Nice quiet area and walking distance to convenience stores, restaurants and banks. All and all a GREAT place to stay and we are planning to stay there again next March!

Nice hotel in a convenient location, just off Interstate 10 and close to stores and restaurants. We stayed in a one bedroom suite which was comfortable and spacious enough for our family of five. Free in room WiFi was a nice perk given our multiple electronic devices. Good breakfast buffet and friendly staff. All in all, no complaints.

we were here visiting family over Christmas and due to illness and other issues, it was the worst Christmas of our lives. Things went so wrong that we cut our visit short by 3 nites and flew home on Christmas Day. The only thing that did go right was our stay at this hotel!

The first room we checked into had a broken lock, which we discovered on the second day of our stay, and so we were upgraded at no extra charge to the Presidential Suite; a young woman by the name of Janine Dancy helped my husband pack and move to the other room, which was certainly above and beyond expectations... in addition to deducting a night's charge from our bill for the inconvenience.

Additionally, when we cut our visit short by 3 nights, we fully expected to be charged for the entire 8 night stay that we had booked, but were more than pleasantly surprised to find that we were only charged for 4 nights.

Suffice it to say that for a chain hotel to provide the kinds of services we experienced during our stay was surprising and refreshing. I hope that this personal touch wasn't just unique to the Goodyear facility but rather is indicative of Comfort Suites in all locations! If so, we commend you for your personal touch and going beyond customer expectations. We will certainly seek out Comfort Suites for any future accommodations in our travels.

writing this review in the middle of our 5 day stay here at this hotel
this is my second stay at this hotel
arrive late on the 21st , checked in , unpacked, later found room had a few issues
refrigerator was very loud couple rips in carpet but most importantly deadbolt did not latch shut, surprising for such a new hotel
how do you respond when a customer is not satisfied?
as a frequent traveler this question often has several different answers
happy to review that Meira at front desk saw this as a customer opportunity , aplogized, and without hesitation offered to switch us to an adjacent room
Though we didn't ask for it she discounted first nights room as we werent completely satisfied and followed up with us the next day to make sure we were doing okay
Well done!

I stayed here five nights. I prefer a suite, for the extra space (for example, more distance between the bed and possibly noisy refrigerator). By "suite," I mean a living room and bedroom separated by a door. I was traveling with my small dog.

These two factors restricted my choice of rooms at this motel to two "parlor" suites on the first floor (rooms 100 and 101), across from each other and next to the door on the west side of the building. (Guests with a dog, for whom there is a one-time fee of $25, must stay on the first floor; there are only two "parlor" suites on that floor where a dog is allowed.)

Both of these parlor suites have two queen beds (plus a "sofa sleeper"): I was told they're intended for families. But if you have your dog and favor a suite with a king bed, at this motel you're out of luck. Also, one of the suites is designed for disabled guests. It features a wheelchair-accessible shower, with no sill around the stall and a short shower curtain, so that water runs all over the bathroom floor, making it slippery. Also, in the closet, the bar holding the hangers is waist high, so that pants drag on the floor; the countertops (kitchen, bathroom) are lower than normal. I was placed in this parlor suite originally (not at my request), but moved to the other after one night.

There is a large, grassy lot next to the parking area on this (west) side of the motel, apparently used for occasional drainage/flood control, which is an ideal place to walk a dog or throw a ball for one.

Just across the north parking lot from this motel is a sports bar. On Saturday nights a rock band plays VERY LOUDLY until about 9:30 P.M. If your room is on the south side of the motel, the sound might be less obtrusive and annoying, depending on your sensitivity to noise.

My rating would be higher if I'd been offered a two-room suite with a king bed, and if the live music across the street on Saturday nights hadn't been so obnoxious. The parlor suites (100 and 101) were spacious and clean, the wi-fi worked fine. The bed was comfortable, the staff friendly and helpful, the selection of breakfast items adequate. I didn't see any attractive restaurants within walking distance (there's one that specializes in hot dogs, and a Pizza Hut, in the vicinity). A Safeway is two blocks south.

Room Tip: People traveling with their dog have only two "parlor" (two-room) suites to choose from. O...

We always stayed here when visiting family. It was a bit pricey but worth it because the rooms are really nice, the staff friendly, and the breakfast, pool, lounge, and exercise room really nice. On our last visit however, they failed to mention that the entire motel had been booked by groups of teenage baseball players who ate all the food, ran up and down the halls all night, and turned our quiet retreat into an ordeal. I complained to the front desk and asked if I could at least get the same rate the large group head received. They refused. I could have stayed ay motel 6 a lot cheaper for the same ambience we had on that trip.

Room Tip: Ask first to see if they're hosting a big sports team.

My spouse and I stayed here with our granddaughter on Friday and Saturday nights of the Labor Day weekend. The front desk staff were friendly and efficient. They had warm cookies, tea and coffee available when we checked in. We had an end-suite (room 300) which was larger than the regular suites. It was equipped with a microwave oven and a full size refrigerator. The living room had a sofa bed and comfortable chair, work desk with chair, eating table with two chairs, dresser, and flat screen TV. The bedroom had two queen beds, a dresser, and another flat screen TV. The bath towels were thick and plush. Our room was very clean. The only minor problem was water condensation from the air conditioner that made the carpet near the AC quite damp, but it was 107 degrees F outdoors, so the condensation was understandable. A staff members brought a pile of towels to soak up the water. The complimentary breakfast was ample and tasty. The building was new and the public areas were clean, spacious, and comfortable. We will stay here again when in the area. There are several fast food and sit-down eateries nearby. It is also close to the interstate highway. We paid $94 plus tax per night.

Room Tip: The suites at the end of the building are a bit larger. They may cost a bit more.
