“A wonderful step back in time!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 August 2013

The Globetrotter Lodge is like a step back in time! A true Route 66 motel experience. From the '50s cars out front to the pink and black tile in the shower, it was so relaxing. The main room was large and the beds very comfortable. Breakfast was very good including homemade jams. Memoorable vacation!

While planning our yearly trip to California from Texas I came across the Globetrotter Lodge and decided to reserve a room because of all the reviews and man was I NOT disappointed. We got there after 11 hours of driving and were greeted by a very nice lady, who I think was maybe the owner. We had no problem with our reservation and within minutes were in one of the biggest and cleanest rooms we have ever stayed in. The pool area is very nice although we did not swim in it, we did take a look and were surprised at how nicely kept and clean the area was. The beds are great, the showers were hot and breakfast was nice to be included with our room rate which was very reasonable. Some people say the trains bothered them but we never heard them and slept quite well. We would definitely stay again and recommend to all going through Arizona. Great well taken care of place that you can tell the owner operators care about.

This is a great place to stay when in Holbrook. The minute you walk into reception, you get the feeling you've made a good choice.
The bedroom was wonderfully decorated, and a comfortable place to spend the night. The individuality of the place (including painted sinks in the bathroom), make it stand out.
I believe the (very friendly) owners are Austrian and the breakfast area felt like it was plucked from somewhere in Europe. They had a great choice of rolls and jams, my only gripe (and is a standard one!) is the weakness of the coffee - hey nowhere;s perfect!
This is the only place I'd stay if in the area again.

I highly recommend this motel which is very cozy, rooms are spacious with very nice decoration. Not to mention the small succulent breakfast. The little corner for lunch was lovely, everything is designed for our comfort, thank you! Don't miss it if you ride the 66 road ...

The Globetrotter is a classic 1950's roadside motel that has been cleaned up and refreshed. It was apparent the owners have taken the time to bring it forward 60 years with modern amenities such as air conditioning, new flooring and wireless internet.

Our rooms were neat, clean and everything worked great. I could see that if you were looking for the classic highway 66 experience, this place would fit the bill nicely. We were there on a pitstop, arriving after dark and leaving before sunrise. So much of the "experience" was lost on us.

Our only disappointment was the mattress in our room. Not firm enough for our taste, but probably fine for others.

Bottom line, a good experience. $72 a room.

The best motel on Route 66! An authentic gem! Large rooms with all comforts, clean bathrooms and a very nice pool with R66 logo! I would thank Pete, the owner, for his kindness and precious suggestions on sidetrips. The breakfast was fantastic with home-made jams!!! I hope we will come back on R66 and stay again in this magnificent lodge!

What a great motel! The owners have done an amazing job at making it comfortable and affordable. Friendly service.

Our room was spotless. I think we were in room 5 which has a second bedroom and could easily sleep 6 people.

Breakfast in the morning was simple but a great addition. For less than $70 a night I'd recommend the lodge to anyone who stops in Holbrook.

If you eat at the local steakhouse and let them know you are staying at the Globetrotter they give you a discount.

The owner was sharing that they lodge had been closed for a number of years prior to their purchase. They have done an excellent job of restoring this classic Route 66 motel. They do have a pool which we didn't use-but it looked clean and had some nice lounge chairs.

We'd stay here again with out a doubt.
