We don't know what the lady who wrote the bad review was thinking - but our stay at GCI was fantastic! The breakfasts were extra special - starting from fruit/yogurt to stuffed french toast, quiche and coffee. Not to mention the great cookies in the middle of the day or after dinner. The owners are great hosts and we recommend everyone to expereince GHOST CITY INN!

We had a one-night stay. Very nice, clean rooms and bathrooms. Breakfast was excellent. Cookies the night before were perfect; homemade and just the right amount of "rareness" in the middle. Hostess was gracious and helpful with planning our day. Thanks.

I feel horrible giving a negative review to any family owned business but I there were a few things about our stay here that I wish someone had warned me about ahead of time so I will be honest with my review.

We stayed in the Verde View room which was very small (to be expected) but clean and adequate in most ways. Our biggest complaint about this room was that there is no thermostat in the room so you are at the mercy of the central heating which seemed to be set at about 85 degrees. We broiled all night. When checking us in the owner suggested that we open our balcony door to cool things down, but since this inn is right on the main highway opening that door not only increases the already loud traffic noise but gives everyone driving by a direct view into the room. The next morning we had only lukewarm water for showers which didn't help our sleep-deprived mood. Breakfast is served at 8:30 sharp and we were told not to be late. The morning's offering was some very undercooked, bland quiche and canned biscuits. Every other person at breakfast was over 70 so perhaps the owner keeps food bland to accomodate various dietary needs but a bowl of salsa or some tobasco sauce might have helped. There was no jam or honey for the biscuits either. There was yogurt and some beautiful fruit available though and the coffee was good! We also enjoyed the yummy homemade cookies available in the afternoon.

The temperature was a real problem as was the traffic noise, however I live in the country and so am probably more sensitive to cars driving by than many people might be.Our ghost tour guide told us that people regularly pack up and leave the GCI shaking in the middle of the night, however we had no ghost encounters which we would have actually enjoyed. I probably wouldn't stay here again, but others obviously have had wonderful experiences.

We try hard to make everybody's stay at our inn the best it can be, but unfortunately we can't please everybody. This guest never said one thing to us abouty the temps in the room, and there are window A/C units in each room and all work fine.

The Inn is located on Main Street, and there is some street noise at times, nothing much we can do about that.

As for our food, we have been awarded "Best breakfast" several times over and hold the only "Golden Plate" award in the Town of Jerome. Our food is the best!

Our Inn is a reasonably priced accomodation located in a very busy historic town, read the rest of our reviews for a better picture than this guest provided. We are sorry they did not enjoy their stay, however, I know that no matter how hard you try, you can't please everybody.

We had a great time staying here. The room was excellent and the B&B location gave us easy access to Jerome. The breakfasts were excellent. I would not hesitate to stay here again.

We had a wonderful one night stay here at the Ghost City Inn! We received a lovely warm welcome when we arrived and had a very comfortable night's stay... Although we did notice a couple of spooky goings on but hey! It all added to the atmosphere of this unique, beautiful hotel. Gorgeous breakfast, lovely surroundings. Sad to leave!

My wife and I, and Penelope the Bassett Hound, stayed 3 nights and couldn't have been more pleased. The owners were away on vacation, so we were taken care of by the fill-in Innkeeper, Terry, who admitted to us this was her very first venture in "inn-sitting".

We've stayed at many B&b's, and with this admitted "newbie" we wern't sure what to expect, but as I wrote in the book upon leaving, TERRY'S A KEEPER!

Wouldn't have known she hadn't been doing this for a lifetime. Courteous, well groomed, very outgoing and sociable, great breakfasts, knowlegeable on Jerome restaurants....and the best for last: she was from Eugene, OR, and a fellow Quacker Backer! GO DUCKS!!
