This was our favourite hotel on our South African tour due to the amazing views and sounds of the sea from our room. I could sit there all day and watch the waves breaking on the rocks . Our room was great very comfortable bed good bed linen everything worked and we could even get ( paid for ) wifi in the room. Ok the tv was old fashioned but who wants to watch tv when you have the crashing waves of the Indian Ocean to watch .There was no restaurant for dinner but we ate in a great restaurant next door ( Guidos) . The breakfast was the usual buffet fare - very good.

Room Tip: I think all rooms have a sea view but just ask to make sure

Nice location on the beach but the rooms are very dated.

Old analogue TV with about 12 channels (I had to ask to get the remote) but no English news such as CNN or Skynews, shower over bath with only soap and two very small satchels of shampoo provided, minimal lighting.

Tea and coffee making facilities, air conditioner, and safe provided. 3 round pronged power points with no power adapter provided.

Steers takeaway next door, as is a good Italian restaurant. There is no dinner available in the hotel itself.

Internet costs money here – no good in this day and age!

Only one old-style lift to service the 3 floors of the hotel which is blatantly insufficient.

So I arrived after a long day on the road and made the long walk up the lift and to the end of the corridor to my room only to find the electronic key did not work. Only recourse was to make the long journey back down to reception to be told to go back upstairs and wait. The guy came and opened the door with his security key and indicated that their system was faulty (so they knew this when I first came up?). The TV did not work – no remote – called reception man came up and then went and brought back a remote. Jumped in the shower and it cycles between hot and cold every 10 seconds or so.

One night is one too many. The hall smelt of must and mold. The bed was old and lumpy. The window had someone who smudged a heart on it the outside ledge was used as an ashtray and the butts have been there for awhile...the staff are not friendly and it is work to get 2 words out of them.
