“Little Portugal in East London! Finest Portuguese Food in SA..”
Reviewed 26 October 2013

We visit Portugal every year and besides the sunny weather, beautiful beaches and super friendly people, the best part is still the Portuguese cuisine. We have now find in East London the perfect place where we can enjoy that same type of delicious, tasty and healthy food. MARISOL!

The owners, Gena and Linda, are running such a fantastic show and whenever we are in East London, we have dinner at our favorite restaurant, which we call "Our Own Little Portugal".

A romantic dinner, meeting friends for a superb meal, or just any ordinary occasion is reason enough to pick up that phone and make a booking.

Of the 15 odd meals we have had there, not one was disappointing. Every time again, we were more than pleasantly surprised... Impressed! The variety is great and we order something different every time, so we are certainly qualified to say that their food is of outstanding quality. TAPAS is certainly another winner.

Keep it up, Gena and Linda. Hope to see you again soon...

“Best vibe in town”

Love the atmosphere and casual feel. Food is great, mostly seafood, although there are other options. Great place to get together with friends and family.

“Appearances can be deliciously deceptive!”
Reviewed 13 October 2013 via mobile

Referred to this restaurant by a local, we found it on our GPS and arrived outside a fairly non-descript looking restaurant. Our welcome there was the first hint that this was no ordinary restaurant and it was going to be a special night. The waiters are friendly and they know the menu well. The food was great and the wine just made the whole meal special. Our Portuguese Hostess even came to our table herself to enquire if the food and service was ok. For that authentic Portuguese atmosphere and food, this is a place to consider... but remember to book, it appears to be very popular!

“Small, personal and tasty”
Reviewed 6 September 2013

I have had the occasion to have dinner at this small restaurant in East London on at ;eats 4 occasions over the last 3 months, and have always been satisified and my taste buds have craved more.
The fact that you must book for dinner if you are to get in bears testimony to the great food. The menu is very small offering very tasty, good value for money Portuguese inspired food with an African touch. Try the Goan Prawn curry-your taste buds will thank you and become addicted!
