A really good meal. Thoroughly enjoyed myself. The coffee is possibly the best in East London. Take some beans home. It's worth it.

This is a great family restaurant with really good quality and good value food. You can eat inside or outside under the trees next to the duck pond. We usually go there on a Sunday for breakfast. Their assortment of breakfasts is good and very enjoyable. Their lemon meringue cake is really good. Their sauces available to have with your food is yummy and the Jalapeño Chutney is wow! They serve really nice coffee and it is available as a "Bottomless Cup". This bottomless cup is especially good on a Monday morning because it is only R10.00 per cup. I would recommend this place to anybody.

My husband and I love treating ourselves to a meal at Lavender Blue - it is bustling, and by far the most "interesting" place for breakfast in East London. The owners are very much hands on and the staff are friendly and efficient. Visitors with young kids are welcome and they have a childrens' playground outside - which must be supervised by an adult because there is also an unfenced dam, which little children may wander down to! There is a country style nursery at the back of the restaurant and Lavender Blue always sells inexpensive roses when they are in season - excellent value for money. The delightful owner has a clothing boutique in one section of the restaurant and aside from fresh organic vegetables and fruit Lavender Blue sells delicious breakfast and lunch dishes, very good coffee and cake, and have a vast array of unusual bottled jam and Olives and, and, and...... Well worth a visit - well supported by locals! I am told there is also a beauty salon - though I have never been there myself.

Reminded me of Noordhoek in CT - a wonderful , fresh , bustling country and craft market gig. Coffee was excellent; choices were varied and wholesome. I unfortunately didn't markedly enjoy my scrambled eggs on toast but will be back to sample the delicious looking open sandwiches and home baked cheesecake! C u there :)
