My wife and I celebrated our wedding at the Blue Lagoon Hotel and Conference Center on the 12th of April 2014.

From start to finish, the entire experience was superlative. The highly capable assistance with decision making, venue decor, arrangements, referrals for service providers and hints on items that we had not even considered, coupled with a no fuss, all smiles attitude to any changes, tweaks or curve balls we threw at them to make our day everything we wanted. Nothing was too much trouble!

The location is simply unbelievable, overlooking a tranquil lagoon, and surrounded by lush foliage. Included in our wedding package was our first night, spent in the honeymoon suite - complete luxury.

All amenities are easily available, and the food is particularly impressive - our guests were raving about it for days.

All in all, I just cannot thank the staff enough for their huge effort and fine attention to detail that ensured we were left with nothing to do but enjoy ourselves on our special day.

Dont hesitate! Book your wedding here!

Room Tip: The E block suites are the best!

I stayed here for business in March for 1 week, and was very happy with the location. It has a great setting overlooking the lagoon- direct access to the lagoon via a path from the hotel. The dassies all around the hotel are cute and not a disturbance. It is mainly for business guests. The rooms are average and smelt of smoke. The breakfasts were very good. No free wifi was a disappointment. There is a bar where you can have a drink after work which is a nice feature, but can get noisy over weekends. All in all, I would stay here again if in the area for business.

Spent New Years with a couple of friends and we were just there for the restaurant and the service was appalling. The waiter did not acknowledge us upon arrival, guests that came after us got served and left before we got any service (even after we asked to be served). Eventually after many failed attempts, on of us walked to the bar, ordered our drinks and carried our drinks (6 glasses and an ice bucket included in two trips to the table and back to the bar again) back to the table. No one apologized even after seeing this and the same happened with ordering food.

Stayed at the hotel for the Ironman 70.3. Only one person smiled; the lady that brought room service. Bar so loud on Friday eve that we paid to sleep in a guest house up the road on the Saturday eve before the race to try and get some sleep. No smoking room, but adjoining room had party and smoked all night with smoke coming into our room through adjoining door. Phoned reception to quiet the neighbours down, but they just started up half an hour later. Rooms not soundproof. Hotel should warn athletes that Friday and Saturday evenings are very noisy and that it doesn't matter how far you are from the bar, you still hear (and feel) the music.

We are the frequent guest of Blue Lagoon hotel, me and my husband. (The Melane's). I am so disappointed with the poor service, especially from the front desk staff. The manager or assistant with the name Mthe is rude and unfriendly, I am sure he is in the wrong place, probably he choose a wrong career. Whenever we arrived there, the hotel reception staff treated us as if they are doing us a favour. Staff attitude is the big loss . Train our staff please. As for the rooms you need an upgrade especially in your apartments everything is falling apart . It only block B that is tolerable. As for the Friday noise, why can't you change our establishment to a night club once and for all? Food is worse , always oil. I can sleep but food is a no no. Last but not least, we were there in September 2013, and mistakenly left a pencil case with a calculator inside, we try to ask your so called lost and found but no one knows nothing about that item. My main concern is a staff titled towards guests. Do something before you it's late

Beware of this hotel which has wild Rock Rabbits (Dassies) living amongst hotel guests which bite and potentially have Rabbies. No one warns guests when entering, my wife was bitten and treated against Rabbies with large associated expenses and pain, management refuse to take any responsibility and refer one to their standard indemnity and have no courtesy to even reply once to our complaint. A privately run hotel with no recourse if one has any issue (no one has to date responded to 3 of our emails) and like others have mentioned you won't have a quiet dinner in the restaurant which is attached to a very loud watering hole for locals. Great view but the hotel is not on the beach, in order to get to the swimming beach one has to drive 15 mins, or swim across a broad River. A business hotel rather than seaside resort.

We went to the restaurant on the 19th dec my birthday and my husband and I sat inside the dining area not on the deck but the view of the lagoon and ocean was magnificent the service we got was excellent and the food though it took very long to arrive was very tasty and we really enjoyed it. Unfortunately the table cloth was dirty but I just turned it around and we carried on with our meal. The place is very clean and I can recommend it for anyone who want to go and relax and enjoy the view and the beautiful soft pleasant music and the good food.

Room Tip: sea view, higher floors less noise and better view
