Accommodations, service, food and safari are the best. The view is breathtaking. The staff could not be nicer. I would return here in a moment's notice. Each and every staff person went out of their way to make sure that we were pleased and happy. The food was delicious and the presentation was outstanding. There are no words to describe how wonderful it was to stay at this lodge.

Room Tip: These are cottages with your own small pool overlooking the savannah and the wild animals come to ba...

After a freeezing cold morning in Grahamstown, we made our way to Kichaka. On arrival we were welcomed by friendly staff, warm hand towels and hot chocolate !! Perfect way to start off our safari ! Accommodation is pure & utter luxury, food is absolutely delicious, staff are warm, friendly & attentive and game viewing outstanding! Jason, our ranger was fantastic - we learnt and saw so much - highlight was a cheetah kill of an impala and mother cheetah calling her cubs & lionesses. I travelled with a friend and our children and have to say, all of us did not want to leave !! I would recommend Kichaka to all my family and friends who are wanting a 5 star luxury safari experience !!! It's worth every penny ! Thank you Kichaka Team for a very special and memorable stay !

Room Tip: All rooms are exactly the same - all stunning & luxurious !

I couldn't recumbent this place enough to anyone.

It is expensive, there is no doubt about that, but I truly believe it was worth every penny! that is a bold statement as we are currently backpacking around the world, this money could go very far in some countries but we are more than happy have have done this.

Our three night stay at Kichaka was truly magical from the moment we arrived until the dream sadly ended when we left. Please anyone reading this, stay for more than one night, you can not capture the lodge experience unless you have some time to unwind and enjoy the setting and its facilities.

It would be unfair to single out any member of staff here, they are all wonderful and very attentive you your every need. Having said that, Jessica did take a shine to Julius, who I must admit was wonderfully charming. Personally, our ranger Ashley made it for me. I get an enormous amount of pleasure watching someone so passionate about their job and Ashley was most certainly that. We did meet Jason and Chris, two other rangers on the lodge and they appeared to be equally as passionate but Ashley for me had a very good way about him.

Of course we're here for the safari drives, and fantastic they were but I can't express enough how good the whole experience is.

Thats what makes the difference between a safari drive...... and the experience of a lifetime!

6 Stars are needed as an option in some of these fields.

We WILL be back

Thanks to all of you

Darren & Jessica

Room Tip: All 5 suites are fantastic

We booked Kichaka after deciding on a very last minute holiday to South Africa. All expectations were exceeded throughout our 3 night stay - such amazing service and attentive staff, out of this world location and lodge and really memorable game drives with hugely knowledgeable and fun rangers.

Of course you go for the game drives, which really were amazing - we stayed during a low week and were lucky enough to have completely private drives every morning and evening which made it extra special. We saw all the animals we could have hoped to see, naturally in their wild habitats - it's something I think that's incredibly important though to realise from the start - this is not a zoo - the animals are wild and living in the wild and so finding them is part luck, and part due to the impressive expertise the rangers have in tracking them and their behaviours. Our ranger Ash was fab - we loved him pointing out the tracks, explaining the different animals behaviours and then doing his best to locate them. We were thrilled to find lion, cheetah, elephants, rhino, hippos, many antelope, zebra and some nocturnal animals too. Really was the highlight of our trip!

The lodge was beyond amazing - service from the lovely staff was the best I've encountered at many 5 or even 7 star hotels - and the food & drink wonderful. It was such a pleasure to come back from drives greeted by the staff and a much welcomed hot toddy by the fire! We had lovely warm days sunbathing on the terrace, having a massage by the water or sipping a nice cold SA wine with lunch - which would be great on their own but then you add in the fantastic game drives and this really is a very special place.

Nothing disappointed us, and we will definitely be going back!

Room Tip: Everyone said you should go for a lake view room, we didn't request this and were certainly not...

We visited Kichaka Lodge in March 2014. We deliberately arranged the stay at the end of our trip to South Africa - anticipating that it would be up there among the highlights. Having had a marvellous time travelling from Cape Town along the Garden Route, we discovered that we had indeed left the best until last!!! Our accomodation was stunnning, the meals were lovely and the lodge staff could not have done more to make our stay so memorable. Our game drives were excellent and Ashley our ranger impressed us both with his knowledge and his commitment to giving guests the best game viewing experience whilst respecting that we were in the animals territory. We consider ourselves fortunate to have been able to see all these wonderful animals in their natural habitate and will always remember Kichaka as one of our best holiday experiences ever. Our advice to anyone thinking about visiting Kichaka is definately go there!!!

Room Tip: Book accomodation overlooking the watering hole - we watched warthog and hippos from our sun deck!!

I cannot recommend Kichaka more highly. What an amazing experience, we came here on our honeymoon, and although it wouldn't be considered a very relaxing stay as you are always doing something, that's kind of the point. Two game drives a day, with an abundance of food. Jason was our ranger and I cant thank him enough for the experience he gave us. Although we didn't get to see any cheetahs as they were superbly hiding away from us and the leopard, we really did get to see everything else. We had some exciting moments with the elephants getting protective over their young which really added to the experience. The lodge was absolutely superb, we stayed in the Plumbago suite overlooking the waterhole, where Harry the hippo paid us a visit. Service was exceptional and we really did get treated well. special mention to Michelle, Nono and Koleka who really added to our stay along with our Ranger Jason.

A DEFINITE MUST SEE GAME RESERVE!!!!!1
