Recently I took some friends and family with me on the River Ferries trip down the Keurbooms. I found it exceptionally informative and amazing

The boat which can seat easily up to 30 people was super clean and the Skipper Captain Russel Amazing!! He had info I could not believe. He was interactive with everyone and had a very inviting manner about him drawing even more stories from others.

We stopped for a quick picnic and potty break and headed back with yet again MORE information.

The view can not be explained....you have to experience it!!!

“What a treat! Not to be missed.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 December 2011

My husband and I took a covered ferry up the Keurbooms River. The ferry accommodates approx. 15 - 20 people. It was early December - just before the season began. We took a picnic with us and our bathing costumes. Our 'captain' was Russell. He is very knowledgeable about the fauna and flora of the valley through which the Keurbooms runs. The river was not very busy, but can get much busier in season he told us. Small beaches flanked the river where one can picnic and swim if you have hired your own boat or canoe. Russell took our small crowd to the furthest beach where we swam, picnicked and took a short walk into the forest. There is a flush toilet and also picnic tables, all spotlessly clean. We highly recommend this outing for adults & children.

“Little piece of heaven”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 December 2009

We hired a boat and took our 3 year old up the Keurboomsriver this morning- it was magical!
There was no wind, so the reflection on the water was too beautiful!
We reccomend going early, as we literally had the river to ourselves for half an hour (this is peak season, nogal!).

There are quite a few small embankments to stop off on and our son LOVED it :-).
The boats are easy to maneouver, in good condition and well worth the price.

We'll definitely do it again when we come back

“I would recommend this to everyone”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 November 2009

Fun in the Sun, that is how I would describe our trip with Keurbooms Ferries. I must say that I have done this trip on various occassions, as it is definately something that we always do when comming to Plett, however this time we deceided on something different. Keurbooms Ferries also rents out small self drive motor boats. They rent them on a per hour basis, supply you with life jackets, petrol and all safety equipment. There are picnic tables and designated braai areas up river, so we decided to spend a couple of hours in Nature. Well, words can not explain how relaxing it is up there, we were the only people on the river beach. There is a proper toilet, but just remember to take lots of drinking water, as there is nothing else up there. I would recommend this a hundred times over.

“perfect afternoons relaxation”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 September 2009

We decided to try the keurbooms river ferries self drive boats and have to say what a great time we had. Renting it for the afternoon and getting a quick tuition from the owner we set off and leisurely made our way up the keurboom river stopping for a picnic lunch before returning. It allows you the freedom to navigate the river at your own pace and stop at various places and was a ideal way to spend a afternoon.
