Our two nights in Beacon Lodge were one of the highlights of our holidays in South Africa. Al and Clo were most gracious hosts who contributed greatly to our enjoyment. Our only regret is that we could not stay longer. The accommodation was charming and very good value, the food tasty and the conversations at breakfast with other guests and the hosts added to a really nice stay.
A great Thai-style restaurant is nearby. Wonderful sites like beautiful beaches, walks, Monkeyland (!), Birds of Eden, Storms River Mouth and much more are close by too. More than a two nights' stay are needed to do justice to Beacon Lodge and Plettenberg.
We have take very happy memories back to Ireland....

Nice location with confortable, clean rooms. Everything was fine and Al&Clo are very friendly. Very good breakfast is included with a good variety. Just TV is missing in the room for those who can't live without it (I can so was not an issue for me).

This small and personal B and B offers comfortable accommodation in a pristine bedroom with a small sitting area with a desk and comfortable chairs for reading. The large window has a lovely view and the garden is alive with birds. The hosts are able and willing to help you find interesting things to do and happy to recommend and book restaurants. You really feel welcome and they do their utmost to make your stay a happy one.

We came upon this delightful spot as we arrived in Plettenberg Bay, and were immediately entranced by everything about it. The hosts, Al and Clo were warm, most welcoming wanted to do everything to make our stay memorable. We stayed a further two nights on the strength of this, and as a result, this was the highlight of our return from Port Elizabeth to Cape Town.
We had the larger of the two rooms, which was exquisitely furnished with Clo's delicate pieces and Al's hospitable inclusion of a cut-glass decanter charged with Marsalla - or something very similar!
Their breakfasts, here again, were superb; Clo's beautifully-presented food couldn't fail to get us off to a great start and we were able to spend as much time at table as we wanted, just watching the humming birds sip Al's sugar nectar whilst others of colourful plumage and song took advantage of Al's nuts or food put out just for them.
We all found areas we had in common, and thoroughly enjoyed chatting about everything and nothing, and reporting on the meals we had enjoyed the evenings before and which the pair had recommended. Nothing was too much trouble for them and we will remember them with great fondness and feel proud that we were the ones who taught Al to cuddle for the "goodbye" photograph.

Room Tip: There are only two, so whichever you have, you can't fail to be comfortable and snug.

A most friendly welcome awaits you at this lovely bed and breakfast accommodation. Although quite close to the main road into Plettenberg Bay, it is very quiet, i.e. if you don't mind listening to the large variety of birds which you can observe while enjoying an excellent breakfast on the patio surrounded by beautiful trees, shrubs and flowers. The rooms are immaculate and with lots of personal touches to make you feel "at home". Unfortunately I only stayed there one night - but next time I'm in Plettenberg, I know now where I'll definitely be staying. Good tips from the host for restaurants in town; 2 top golf courses 5 minutes away; a walk on the beach also only 5 minutes away. A wonderful place to stay and be.
