Reviewed 21 September 2013

this holiday destination is out of this world and our room was lovely, very clean and and staff could not help us more. from here we made many different trips, sky diving, swimming with seals, walking with elephants and bungy jumping! so we made the best of the time here. also local restaurants were great.

Room Tip: they are all very good

The first stop on our travels of the Garden Route. Very helpful staff and we met the owners whilst staying there who gave us some tips for Cape Town. Lovely location with a wonderful beach across the road. Staff organised a taxi for us one night and we paid the driver when he returned us to The Robberg.

It was great to be able to meet you and chat about your journey - hope the Cape Town leg was wonderful. We thought of you when we arrived in town. Thanks again for staying with us, and especially for taking the trouble to post a review. We appreciate it enormously. Hope we'll see you again one day in our little piece of paradise. Til then, all the very best from all of us at the Robberg.

Chantal and the team at this little haven offer excellent service. There is always tea or sherry on hand, together with pastries or some other nibble. Breakfast was excellent and fresh. A great buffet with a nice range of freshly cooked options. The honesty bar in the main house is well stocked and a second on the roof terrace of a neighbouring part of the property is a lovely place for a sundowner. Our room at the front had wonderful views over Plettenburg Bay, where we saw a pod of dolphins playing nearby and the whales that find their way there in the South African winter. The property is made up a just a handful of purpose built luxury villas with rooms in each. Modern, comfortable and attentive. We will happily return. Thank you to Cape Tours who included this in our first, and wonderful, visit to South Africa.

Room Tip: Ask for a room in Beachy Head Villa, overlooking the bay

Whales, dolphins, great breakfasts, great service, spectacular sundowners and views: you couldn't have described the Robberg experience better! Thank you and thank you to Cape Tours for matching us up. It's great to hear you enjoyed your first visit to our beautiful country so much: we love this place, and love sharing it with our guests. Hope your next trip includes another sundowner on the terrace! Til then, best wishes from the Baileys and the Robberg team.

The hotel was delicate with lovely white and light colours and a beautiful seaview in the main area of the hotel. The hotel was lovely, but the construction was not as good, as the water in the shower did not drain properly due to the slope of the piping. The service was good, but maybe a bit over the top.

We were only able to stay in Plett one night but were very happy indeed to be here. An idyllic location right on Robberg Beach with beautiful and outrageously spacious rooms. A generous and excellent breakfast after a morning run/swim on the beach. A truly wonderful visit and we'll be back!

Room Tip: Sea views available but quieter rooms, set back were fantastic and huge!

Thanks for staying with us - sorry it was only a one night stay, but that's just more reason to come back again, no? Your morning run and swim sounds perfect: glad you were able to experience some of the magic of the beach setting. Looking forward to that return visit :). All the best to you from the Baileys and the Robberg team.

Chantel, Beth and the rest of the team made our stay in Plettenberg extra special. Nothing was too much trouble. They made reservations for us, organised packed breakfasts (once at very short notice) and decorated the breakfast table on the day of my parents' 50th wedding anniversary.

The rooms were lovely, beautifully decorated with awesome sea views.

The team are very knowledgeable about the area and have great contacts for trips / restaurants / taxis etc.

Highly recommended!

Room Tip: Make sure you get a sea view - it's unmissable!

Here's to many more happy years together for your folks, and maybe we'll get to celebrate the 60th anniversary with you all! Best wishes from all of us at the Robberg

A quaint and relaxed B&B, with excellent service. Rooms are spacious and in a country beach style and a great place to chill out. There is a common living and kitchen area nearby, good for longer vacations.

Breakfast was awesome, a buffet of fresh salad and cereals and you could order sizzling hot bacon and eggs. Having it by the pool side in the fresh air is divine! Always a great start for our days in the Garden Route.

Staff was always friendly and helpful, recommending dinner venues and making reservations for us.

I have no idea why other reviewers feel badly about this accommodation, but to me, this was excellent service from the Robberg group.
