Description: SeaFood at The Plettenberg combines an array of elements to create an unsurpassed dining experience. The sand, beach and sea have been brought into the restaurant in the colours, mood and design. Unrivalled views of the breath-taking Formosa Bay are complimented by the decor, and together they create the perfect platform for the SeaFood cuisine. Here the chefs create modern South African fare that is seasonally influenced. The menu - designed by The Collection's award-winning Executive Chef Peter Tempelhoff and his team - places great emphasis on fresh produce from local green-friendly suppliers and this gives SeaFood at The Plettenberg the unique ability to showcase a true taste of the bay.

“Great seafood, try to get a table by the window”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 February 2014

The setting is beautiful and the vew across the bay are spectacular. When booking request a seat by the window so you can soak up the views, dinign a sunset is really special. The seafood and fish here are particularly good. The starters and main courses were delicious and the desert which was recommended to us by one of the staff (a traditional south african pudding) was incredible delicious. We had very attentive service. I would happily recommend a long leisurely dinner here.

“Delicious!”

Delicious food, wonderful menu, great staff, lovely atmosphere - a little pricey but worth it! I recommend the fish and chips - a posh version and so perfect!

“Best food in Plettenberg”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 December 2013

We ate several times at Seafood and it was in our opinion by far the best restaurant in the Plettenberg area. The food is really top notch and the view over the bay cannot be beaten. It is a little bit more expensive than other options but this is reflected in the complexity and quality of the dishes, the restaurant is very well priced by European/US standards. Well worth a visit!

“Weekday Lunch”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 October 2013

Beautiful sunny but 'wintry breezy' day on the The Plettenberg veranda with a stunning whale display in the distance perhaps helped us overlook what was possibly inattentive service. Food did arrive collectively but drinks service a little slow.

It was a quiet area with no one else there initially but eventually a couple arrived and 'picnicked' on the pool deck and another 3 arrived to eat.

Locals described the outing as "its going to be expensive" which if compared to The Deck maybe the bill was. The quality of food and extensive wine menu caters for a different market (exquisite and elite?) and this means a different value altogether. Starters and mains were unique to area and desserts catered for all tastes!

All age groups enjoyed it and with its quietness and elevation allowing great whale watching and a pleasant weekday experience!

Table of 5 with 2 bottles of wine plus tip approx USD180. Be interesting to see what service is like when a full house!
