Best backpacker ever!!! Beautiful view and the service is amazing! Everything they do is carefully done , thinking just in the best for you and your stay there. The only problem is if you don`t have a car, because it is quite far from the city centre and attractions, and you`d have to take a cab, which will cost a significant money.

Room Tip: I stayed in a double room, and it was really good

All 56 previous reviews say it all: (apart from the one that was written obviously by a 'dropped at birth Stevie wonder') This place is TOP NOTCH.
The spectacular view, the amazing food, the superb owners, excellent reception on the free WIFI, the nightly fires (inside and outside) and BBQ/Braai are all of the highest quality which makes it an ultimate place to chill out and relax.
I have been here well over two weeks now and don't want to leave.
To the person who complained about security: I think a 2km driveway, a surrounding electric fence, four guard dogs, four CCTV cameras, a night guard and a surrounding cliff side just about covers it unless you last accommodation was President Zuma's 246 million rand security upgraded house?

Room Tip: I stayed in a lovely dorm room but treat yourself to one of the private rooms as I've had a look...

The best hostel my friend and I stayed in during our 5 month trip around the world. Awesome scenery, fantastic service, food was divine. It has a lovely homely feel and is the perfect place to relax and unwind. I would definitely recommend staying here, facilities are great and the owner and staff are very friendly and extremely helpful. If only I was still there!

mybest my husband and I arrived at this gorgeous place with the intent on staying for two nights and stayed for seven. We didn't want to leave.
Matthew and his wonderful wife Vicki are amazing hosts and helped us immensity. The food is top notch and Matthew is an excellent chef. The salads are delicious and fresh fro their organic garden. The portions are large and Matthews menu covers just about everything. We hardly bothered eating in townn although there are self catering facilities Matthews kitchen magic spoiled us!!!
The rooms are beautiful and super comfortable and the bathrooms immaculate.
The view from both terraces simply takes your breath away, and with the outside fire you enjoy a
glass of wine while enjoying the gorgeous sunsets after dinner

I would highly recommend this wonderful place to anyone looking to visit Plettenburg Bay and want a peaceful and tranquil holiday

Very nice view, good food and very clean kitchen with a domestic worker to wash all dishes. Only thing crowd is too old and uncomfortable vibe as if I am in their personal private space of the owners. But otherwise has a lot of potential if they can keep their personal dining area and lounge seperate to guests. Thank you for having us

Thank you for taking the time to review African Array Lodge this is a family run business and would not like to have too many more employees so it's less personable.
