Cottage Pie was our least favourite stay of all the places in our three-week tour of South Africa. It didn't help that we were checked in to a very nice room and then moved to a smaller, less favourable one in a rather peremptory way, within the first ten minutes; and the energy of the establishment seemed to be going in to extensive building work on the adjacent property rather than providing top-notch service to existing guests. Breakfast was good and the manager did go the extra mile for us on the second day, when we had a call from our previous hotel in Kynsna to say that we had left some keys behind - she picked them up personally for us.
It's not really close enough to walk into central Plett but it's a short drive and was mid-way to the fabulous Robberg Peninsula which was well worth the visit.
