We had a room with a stunning view of Plettenberg Bay. A large luxurious room at only R900 per night - no breakfast included. The hotel was very empty and It must be expensive to maintain a building of this nature in the centre of Plett with low mid winter occupancies. We enjoyed our room and view so much that we extended our stay to 2 nights. The room was warm comfortable. The duvets a bit thin but we simply requested a second one. There were no hair dryers which I missed. The TV channel choice was rather limited and while watching a movie the channel was suddenly changed due o soccer with no warning. When we " booked" to watch the rugby this was done with no problem.
We did not use the on-site Bistro for breakfast as there are many lovely places to eat in Plett. We enjoyed a nice dinner however on our first night.
All in all a comfortable choice made following a disappointing "Wilderness" experience.

Room Tip: Sea View is a must.

I had the pleasure of staying in this cute little hotel. Me and my fiance just wanted us time. the hotel manager was kind to upgrade us to the honeymoonsuite. This little gem is in the heart of the village close to everything in walking distance of the beach. Staff is well informed about the surrounding areas. Will definitely be back.

This hotel is situated right in the main road of Plett so the location is great . The rooms at the hotel are old the decor is very old and the shower had mould in it . The rooms have no air con but do have fans . Breakfast is served by a outsourced resturant and the service was slow and rather poor as it looked like they where unable to cope with the number of people . The reception staff where very friendly and pleasant but overall unless you really have limited budget I would look else where as the rooms are one step up from a youth hostel .

We stayed in the Bayview Hotel during the time we have done a few hikes in the surrounding area.
The hotel staff is very helpful and friendly and the room were clean and tidy. In my opinion staying for one night is perfect. Stretching the stay to 3 nights becomes a challenge.
The room I stayed in haven't had any aercon and sleeping for 3 nights in very hot temperatures is not the best experience. The televisions are old and channels are limited and taking 5 minutes to regulate the water temperature in the shower is time consuming and wasting water. Overall I had a good stay. The Bistro on the premises is a huge contribution.

My daughter stayed here during Plett Rage. Although the room was fully paid for 6 months in advance, the hotel still demanded that my daughter, upon arrival, pay a deposit of R1500. It has been three weeks and they still have not refunded the deposit, even after numerous phone calls.

When you arrive at 5pm during school holidays without a booking you can probably get into the Bayview. It's right in the middle of town and has reasonable views if you can get a front room. The rooms are plain vanilla but ok an service is attentive. Wifi wasn't available from our room but from the lobby. Very good value at R665 (USD65) for a couple. Breakfast is not included although available. We ate at a nearby bakery which was fabulous. We had hoped to stay at the Milkwood which looked fabulous.

Room Tip: Try to get a sea view room

An affordable hotel, especially when compared to the pricey guesthouses nearby. Room had a great view of the ocean and beach. Great location, just a walk away from an array of restaurants and bars. A standard room, nothing fancy, but good enough.
