Two things I need to mention that can be improved on. (1) the room smelt of smoke when I entered it and again when I walked in at night - not good. (2) the blind in the kitchen that is missing by the door handle gives an insecure feel of someone that can look into the room. Nice and clean otherwise and well situated.

Thanks for the two great points of feedback. Our rooms are non-smoking, but we do have the odd guest that ignores the signs. Our housekeeping staff need to manage this better though, and we will look in to this. Also good to hear about the blinds. I'll check this out. Thanks for staying with us: we appreciate the business and will work with the team on your feedback. Best wishes from all of us at Ibhayi

I was travelling on business to PE and booked the lodge. I was highly surprised when I got there and saw the beautiful garden. The rooms are spacious with the bathrooms being more spacious. I was quite impressed with the breakfast room which is within the grounds. The quality of the breakfast itself was just outstanding. A suggestion : put up very subtle signage to indicate which side the rooms are especially for first time guests, I got a bit lost at night trying to find the parking area from my room. Also a dinner in that quaint restaurant is a MUST please...you need to bring it back because I believe you used to have it. Dinner in that restaurant would be really awesome...I would go back again and again...I think it's my new home for PE...

What a great review Bridget - thank you! We agree, the winding paths through the gardens can make it a little confusing at night: we've put some signs up now, so when you're next with us, let us know if we've got it covered. We're also glad to report we're working on getting Leo's Bistro back up and running in the evenings again. Watch this space! Til we see you again, best wishes from all of us at Ibhayi and Leo's.

Really enjoyed my stay at the hotel. Pleasant atmosphere, clean rooms good value for money. Will recommend it to other people coming into PE. I like it that it is close to the airport. that is convenience for me.

Food was a main problem. Our recommendations were implemented on first day and later ignored and chefs have ability but it is about assigning relevant chefs for certain diverse groups. other things - good

Thanks for staying with us and for letting us know about the concerns you had about the chefs not delivering your change requests on successive days of your trip. Our chefs are working through some training at the moment, and our management will also keep an eye on this going forward. Thanks for the feedback and hope to see you soon. Best regards from the Ibhayi and Leo's team

Stayed at the Ibhayi Guest Lodge in April 2013 as had gone to PE to watch my brother in Ironman SA. The complex is fantastic, very scenic and tranquil. The room was amazing, very spacious and very clean, felt like home from home. The staff were very friendly and did all they could to make out stay a good one. Food at breakfast was lovely! Only negative was that the last few days the wifi signal in the room was very hit & miss so had to sit nearer to the main reception area where it was fine. Thank You to all staff at Ibhayi Guest Lodge!

What a lekker review! Thanks for staying with us, and for the great feedback. The ironman was amazing this year. Hope your brother was happy with his time! It's good to hear you had a great time with us - smiles all round on this side when we read your review :). Thanks for letting us know about the wifi - it's usually pretty solid, so we'll have a look into that. Hope to see you again in PE - maybe next ironman? All the best to you from the Baileys and the Ibhayi team.

This is a really nice gated lodge. We spent most of the time exploring outdoors (around N2) so we really didn't have the time to utilize many of the amenities. We stayed in a family room, which was spacious (with a kitchen area). At a glance, there were two pools and a WiFi lounge (there is WiFi in the rooms, as well). Would recommend this place, and will definitely stay here the next time we're in Port Elizabeth.

On a family holiday and headed for Cape Town, we found Ibhayi Guest Lodge perfect for a one night’s stay, even though it is obviously geared for conferences and company workshops. The staff were friendly and helpful and the rooms comfortable with a fully stocked mini bar. All the usual luxuries were available- including free WiFi. There is a swimming pool available but, with the prevalent wind which PE is so well known for, it needed a clean. We made use of the restaurant on-site for dinner which was really good - and they kindly prepared a breakfast pack for us which we collected on departure the next day. Would happily recommend this guest lodge to anyone planning a short stay.

Room Tip: All three we used were pretty good

Thanks for the great review! Glad you stayed with us on your way down the coast. You're right, with the conference rooms on site, and the central location of Ibhayi, we're fortunate to have a lot of corporate guests staying with us. But we also love having guests on holiday - always very inspiring! - and try to make sure that we can make Ibhayi a place for everyone's needs. So it's lovely to hear that you enjoyed your short stop at Ibhayi. Hope you had a wonderful time in Cape Town. Best wishes from the Bailey family and the Ibhayi team.
