We were looking for a special place to stay for the night after our wedding. My husband and I stopped by this beautiful guesthouse one weekend to have a look for ourselves...when we walked into the rooms we immediately fell in love and knew it would be just perfect for us! I also decided to get ready there the day of my wedding, with my 3 bridesmaids. They just had a perfect setup for this.
I am SO GLAD I chose Millbury and would recommend it to anyone! My sister and I had a massive beautiful, sunny room (which was perfect for the photos - the photographer had a blast!). I still had my own kingsize bed, and my 2 other bridesmaids were just across from us in another room which wasn't too far or too close:-).
The service was just excellent, and they really went out of their way to make us feel at home, that we were comfortable and had eveything we needed. Breakfast in our rooms was delicious and a huge treat, and they were running around to get our flowers in water and even brought coffee for the make-up artist!
Their prices are quite reasonable. This really is just a special place that you'll never forget.
Thanx so much guys, and I'm sure we'll be back for a couple of anniversaries! :-)

Our recent stay at Millbury Guest House certainly exceeded our expectations. The guest house is set in a quiet, up market area which is very central to many restaurants and shops and is only a 10 minute drive to the beachfront. The rooms are very comfortable, spacious, decorated with quality furnishings and set towards the back of the property away from road noise, in a lovely garden setting with a sparkling pool. Off-road secure parking is an added bonus. Colleen and Denis made us feel very welcome and we would certainly recommend this lovely guest house to anyone looking for quality accommodation.

This small, cozy family run B&B situated off Mill Park road in the upscale suburb of the same name blends seamlessly with the smart homes, the quiet, elegant tree lined streets and the overall genteel atmosphere of this classy section of Port Elizabeth.
Operated as a family business by the ever efficient, pixyish, bubbly Colleen and her jovial husband, Dennis, with her amiable mother, Joan, hovering in the background always willing to pitch in and offer a helping hand, the guest house runs like a fine, well-made Swiss watch.
While there are only six rooms at the Millbury, each is meticulously furnished. The beds are huge and exceptionally comfortable; the mattresses new and firm. The bedding and linen is, as one would expect in a four star establishment, of the highest quality. Colourful decorative pillows are strewn about liberally as is the norm in these upper end B&B's. Also, as is the norm in these establishments, each room has been given its own individual name. I find this last a touch pretentious, but it definitely fits in with the overall ambience of the setting.
As a final observation, all the rooms are extra-large with supremely modern, functional bathrooms and small, well equipped kitchenettes. Included in every room is a fridge, a well stocked "honesty bar", a microwave oven, kettle and toaster. The requisite tea and coffee service is complemented by a small container of fresh rusks. There is a dependable Wi-Fi connection available (a bit slow); each suite features a flat screen TV with DSTV programming.
While others on this page have commented on the inimitability of having breakfast delivered by a cheerful, smiling Dennis at a (reasonable) time of one's choice in the morning, the fact is this is a matter of expediency as the Millbury does not have a dining room per se. There is a long table set up beside the Weber BBQ adjacent to the pool and families or groups can have their breakfast there if they so choose. Otherwise, an enormous tray of freshly sliced fruit, cereals, yoghurt, eggs-to-order, bacon and mushrooms will arrive at one's front door to be enjoyed at one's leisure at the small table inside every room. An elegant solution to a relatively minor omission.
The property and the swimming pool are meticulously maintained by the garden staff. Lounge chairs are available to recline upon beneath the swaying palm trees beside the pool. The aforementioned Weber gas BBQ is available for use by the guests. Secure parking is provided inside the property and unless the guest house is full to overflowing, there ought to be sufficient for all.
Rates are certainly competitive for this calibre of B&B in Mill Park. They are considerably more reasonable than the nearby Lemon Tree Guest House which offers five star accommodation that is not that much superior, if at all, to that offered by the Millbury. Additionally, the fusty St. George's B&B close to the "Five Way's" intersection is offering virtually identical rates with significantly less attractive facilities to say nothing of the warm hospitality that one is assured of at the Millbury.
Given its popularity and well-deserved reputation, reservations are likely the order of the day, especially during high season. Highly recommended! Allan H. Adams.

Room Tip: The newer rooms to the right of the pool are slightly more modern, but there is nothing at all wrong...

We only stayed for 1 night as we travelling to Addo, but this was the best Guest House we stayed during our 3 weeks travel! Perfect, clean and very big room. Nice swimming pool, splendid breakfast, very friendly people,... I could not think of 1 single negative word...

I would definitely go back when I'm in the neighbourhood of Port Elizabeth again!

I am a business traveller from Europe. Millbury guest house offers luxury accommodation and is a perfect location to unwind from business and at the same time allows you to work if you want to in a relaxed and quiet ambience. With self catering possibilities you can be at home even though being far from home. Colleen and Dennis are warm and friendly and provide the best of service whenever you need it. Highly recommended and more than good value .... I will always come back.
