My stay was a pleasant one. The only issue I had was that I was not able to find a hair dryer in my room.
The room was lovely, view stunning and breakfast good.
Would stay again next time I am in Port Elizabeth.

Excellent stay very neat and will visit there again. I really enjoyed the view as well as the breakfast that was amazing. In house facilities was great, bar fridge prices was also reasonable. I would suggest this to anyone.

Beautiful setting overlooking Port Elizabeth's harbour with nicely decorated rooms and friendly treatment from the staff. Close to the city center which is ideal for doing business and holidaying. Overall a good experience.

I stayed at Sir Roys At The Sea whilst on business in PE.

Accommodation was fantastic, breakfast excellent and the service was worthy of any 5 Star resort. Well done to the management and the staff at Sir Roys. Value for money - Excellent.

This was the place of our first night in South Africa on our 35 day journey. If you are driving, it is easy to miss the entrance to this place. There is a gate that has to be opened from the inside. It will be near the top of the hill on the right. Once you are registered, you get an opener for the gate. It seems like a pretty secure place. It was rainy while we were there; so, we did not get to enjoy the view very much. Noise from other guests can disturb one's sleep. Another guest left a television or radio playing a bit too loudly after 11 pm. The breakfast was exceptional. The owner is a native of PE and is very helpful with dining advice. There are three restaurants just down the the hill about a 10 minute walk. The seafood restaurant within walking distance is exceptional. The name of the place may be a bit off-putting for some who did not like Sir Roy's politics. This is no way affected our experience. Our room was very spacious. As others have mentioned, this is not a place where luxurious soaps and shampoos are provided. The excellent price of this place, however, makes up for that. It is a great value and is very convenient to the airport. Be forewarned, however, that Port Elizabeth is one of the harder places to navigate through it on the Garden Route. It is one place where a GPS can be useful. Take your own Garmin and buy the South African SD chip for less than $50 (It will have some problems in Cape Town). We would stay here again. There is a nice market also near the restaurants where a person can stock up on water and supplies quite reasonably. Flying into PE from JNB can be a little rough at the end as you enter the airport there. We flew on South African Airways. Renting from Budget or another car agency is easy at the airport. Just pay extra for the automatic if you are not used to driving on the left side of the road. I grew up on a manual car and it was much hard shifting with the left hand and driving on the left side of the road. I took the car back the next morning and got an automatic. My pride may have been hurt a little, but it made the rest of our trip better. We dropped the car off in Cape Town. It costs us about $850 US for a two-week rental plus our gas.

Room size is really big and comfortable, bathroom modern and bright.
Quality of the breakfast was excellent.
Small negatives: no alcohol in mini-bar (I guess there are reasons for this) and one other very tiny issue, no shampoo, but I guess could use hand soap.
Will definitely go again.
