“Great service in comfortable setting”
Reviewed 31 May 2014

The service is excellent. Renelle in particular was a great and tolerant host to a rowdy bunch of Australians, particularly around the bar. The rooms in the second building are comfortable, but are dated and have the feel of a standard motel room. The rooms in the main building are better.

Room Tip: Rooms in the main part of the Guest House are the best.

We supposed to go to Knysna, but found a warm and safe welcome in Cape Flame Guest house after an attempted carjacking, driving from Addo's Elephant Park to Port Elizabeth.
Thanks to the great support of Ronel, Rob, Ivy and Jackie we could continue our holidays after two days.

We appreciated the clean room, a nice breakfast and a lot of coffee! Cape Flame is situated near the sea and in the neighbourhood of shops and restaurants.

When we are going back to South Africa, we will stay again in Cape Flame Guest house!

Stayed at Cape Flame for three nights on a recent business trip to Port Elizabeth. the rooms were clean tidy and heaps of room and the staff were magnificent. They helped us out and made our stay enjoyable. Nothing was too much trouble.

The Guest house was great and in an amazing location...just around the corner is a small shopping mall with some fantastic restaurants. The boardwalk casino etc is only a 10 minute walk. It is just of the main beach road so if you want to watch IMSA for bike and run it is not far to go ( IMSA was the reason for the visit). Was disppointed that on the day of the race the breakfast area was locked. The good thing they did arrange great breakfast boxes which you could eat in the room. It would have been nice to have the bar open after the race but this was not the case. The pool is a great temperature. It is worth checking the set up and ammenities within the rooms prior to booking....one room towards the back had a small kitchenette with microwave, the one by the pool did not..but the rooms were different rates. The staff were amazing and made every effort to assist with a smile. I would definately stay here again on a return visit. The breakfast which they do is great and really sets you for the your day!!!

I booked my accommodation for Ironman 2014 at the last minute and spoke to Rob. He was amazing to deal with and was super helpful especially since I had to change my booking at the last minute.

The location of this property is perfect. About a kilometer from the Boardwalk and right off the Marine Drive, it is in a quiet area right near to everything.

The room I stayed in room 7 on the ground floor. Although the room was maybe a bit out dated, i.e. no flat screen TV but rather one of those box shaped ones, carpets, etc. I would not consider these a negative since the price of the room per night and what you get is amazing value for money.

I had breakfasts twice and both times the food was excellent and without asking, they had prepared a "to-go" breakfast for me for Ironman as I was leaving the hotel at 4:30am.

I would highly recommend this place to anyone from corporates to families.

The overall experience was good, very friendly staff, nice rooms, clean etc.
The breakfast service and quality was a disappointment, cold coffee, few muffins to go around and undercooked pork saucage etc.

We had a short stay of 16 hours only. Therefore we had no time to experience the swimming pool or the fitness centre. However we experienced a very good service. The staff at the reception was very helpful and friendly.
The guest house is well situated in a quiet and safe environment. There is a little shopping centre at walking distance, as well as the beach. There is a great choice of restaurants in the surrounding.

Room Tip: We had a room on the ground floor, right near the swimming pool and the main street. We think that...
