Love this restaurant so much, nice interaction from owner/chef. The food is always of top quality and perfectly cooked. A real jewel. Try the homemade peanut butter icecream. Mmmmm

“Meat Lovers Paradise”
Reviewed 28 May 2014

Every time we visit Flava, it turns out to be a memorable experience with excellent food served in a traditional and efficient manner. John, the owner chef, has a passion for good meat bordering on obsession and his enthusiasm rubs off on his staff and the vibe in general. The basic menu is more than adequate and the addition of a few specials make for more than enough variety. There is, however, no need to stray from a standard steak or other prime cuts as you can always be assured of a superb meal. Decent value as well.

“CHEF OWNER MAKES THE DIFFERENCE TO THIS DELIGHTFUL RESTAURANT”
Reviewed 1 January 2014

New Year's eve and the wife and I were looking for a nice place to enjoy a meal, we headed off to Stanley Street in Richmond Hill and the beauty of this is that there are a number of restaurants to choose from, we were surprised by the number of them that were closed. We settled on Flava and had a table inside. To start we had the Flava Salmon Salad and what exceptional value at R49 as two of us shared it and it was more than enough for each of us. My wife chose grilled lamb chops which were devine and I had the Prosciutto Line Fish which was yellowtail, mine main cost R90 and my wife's was R97, we considered the prices to be of excellent value. Dessert wise we chose the homemade brittle caramel ice cream at R35 and again the portion size was sufficient for both of us. What makes the difference with this restaurant is that the Owner is the Chef and is passionate at what at what he does. The bill for two us came to R402 excluding vat what I felt was good value. We have eaten at Flave before and it will not be too long before we eat there again. Well done John and keep up the high standards.
