This was our 2nd year at Shamwari`s Eagles Crag and it simply gets better!!!
We spent our first two days at Shamwari`s Explorer Camp with our rangers Jeroen & Patrick and they looked after us with consummate ease. Jeroen was a safe pair of hands with his knowledge of the camp the flora & fauna and the animals that we spotted on foot and Patrick with his amazing cooking all on the camp fire....In fact we called him the "Gordon Ramsay " of Shamwari and his Lamb stew will live long in our memories.
The Explorer Camp is certainly not "Glamping" , but it was comfortable and great fun.
We then transferred to Eagles Crag for a further two days and 4 game drives with Bethuel.
I simply cant find the words to praise and thank him highly enough for our game drive experiences. He and a fellow Ranger Jan, who we seemed to regularly meet up with for morning coffees and Sundowners were the perfect double act and kept us entertained , but most importantly, Bethuel got us closer to virtually every animal than we ever imagined and even more so than last year.
A final word on the accommodation and food at Eagles Crag......Our lodge provided ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING YOU NEEDED for TOTAL COMFORT and the food this time round was just fantastic and that includes the African Breakfasts.
Nothing else to say - But if you want a "Real" 5 Star Safari experience then this is the place.
