What an experience we had. We have just come back from South Africa and had the experience of staying at Bayethe Lodge and experiencing fantastic game drives with Minola the Game Ranger. We have been on safaris in other countries and thought they were special but when you have a ranger that has a passion for animals as Minola has there is no better experience. He does his best to give you everything you could wish for on a safari. After the safari to come back to top class service at top class accommodation finishes off your day.

We would recommend this holiday to anyone and we would return tomorrow.

An extremely wonderful game safari. Much better than expected. 3 wonderful nites with 3 great game drives. The staff couldn't do enough for us. If ever in South Africa, will go back for sure. We were excited before the trip but, the lodge so far exceeded the expectations of all 12 of us. Not a cheap place to go but worth every penny. Everything was as advertised . Saw the Big 5. Food and lodgings were great. Don't worry when the call the lodgings tents. They were wonderful, even had an outdoor shower which was fun for wife and me.

We are four girls who had a dream to go on safari. Where do we begin!!!!! We can't speak highly enough about this place!! This is definitely the place to stay!! Bayethe Lodge 'Tents' are amazing and luxurious! We wanted a bit of the 'safari experience' which we definitely had, but with pure luxury as the decor is wonderful - certainly no shortage of luxury! We had our own plunge pool, and the 'outside shower' is a must!! Very liberating - and the water was lovely and hot and very powerful - superb! We had a few 'deer' visiting us most days outside our 'tent', which was lovely. It was 5 star hospitality from the staff and management from the moment we arrived at Shamwari, from the pink lemonade on arrival to the hot chocolate and hot flannels waiting for us after every game drive! The food and sevice was exceptional, and we were really treated like royalty and felt very special. And we have to mention the electric blankets which were turned on ready for us each night on our return from the evening game drive! The Game Drives were absolutely amazing!! We had a total of six, and each one was totally different. What a fantasic experience! We were so lucky to have had Jacques as our ranger - he was just exceptional, and such good fun! He laughed and joked with us, and more importantly he was so full of knowledge about all the animals - he was such an interesting person, and truly wanted us to see and experience everything there was to offer on the Game Drives. We can't speak highly enough of him, because Jacques definitley made the days so enjoyable. (Ask Jacques about the python, haha) He makes a good morning cuppa too!! And a good Gin and Tonic on our Sundowner each evening!! We didn't even mind the 5.30am wake-up call each morning because we enjoyed the Game Drives so much. We saw four of the 'Big Five' - the only one we didn't get to see was the Leopard. But we certainly made up for it by seeing all the other animals so close-up, and even saw the lions doing a chase, but not catching it (thank goodness)!!! We definitely had an 'experience' when we found the elephants, after looking for them for two days!!! When we did find them there was 25 of them, and lots of little ones too!! I could go on about Shamwari forever! We must not forget to mention the two lovely girls in the 'Spa' who were so professional and worked wonders with us! We had a body massage, hot stone massage and a body wrap - what an experience!! Truly wonderful and so very relaxing!! We want to thank all the staff for making our experience so memorable and are now saving to come back with our 'other halves' in five years! A MASSIVE THANK YOU VERY MUCH from us four 'Welsh Girls' xx
