“AN ENJOYABLE EVENING AT AN OLD NAME RESURRECTED”
Reviewed 17 November 2013

Le Med was a well known restaurant some years ago, it has recently been resurrected by one of the original partners and now with some new well known partners. It is situated in the vibey Stanley Street. I liked the interior with brightly coloured chairs mixed amongst the tables together with bright cloth serviettes. We arrived at around 7.40pm and there was one other couple there. Kat was our waitress and we received a warm welcome. The menu is quite expansive and naturally covers the taste of the Mediterranean countries. We did not bother with starters although they all looked good. My wife chose the Baby Calamari Lemono and I had the Pasta De Mare, initially thinking the prices were quite high they came into reality when we were served quite a large mini loaf and when main courses were served complimentary vegetables . My wife's calamari tubes were very tender and the sauce very tasty. Similarly my De Mare had prawns and chicken both of which were ample in quantity and most tasty. The portion size was generous and we decided to share a dessert, we chose the Cheese cake and again portion size was ample and most tasty with apricots and syrup on top, finished off with two excellent filter coffees. The bill amounted to R318.00 excluding a tip and we felt that it was reasonable given what we had eaten. Number of tables filled up whilst we were eating. Indeed a most enjoyable evening and have no difficulty in recommending Le Med which maintain the standards that I remember it in years gone past.
