We booked Thunzi as somewhere different from the modern hotels of Port Elizabeth to rest after the long flight from the UK and before starting our safari north of Grahamstown. What a wonderful place we found, the welcome from the staff was really great, the accommodation was of a really high standard and the surrounding environment couldn't be better for rest and relaxation. The evening meal was really good and the friendly service very much appreciated. We were very glad that we booked a second night at Thunzi for after our safari and before starting our journey down the Garden Route to Cape Town. The second night at Thunzi was every bit as good as the first and proved that the friendly and welcoming service from the staff was natural and genuine. We would go back to Thunzi without question and thoroughly recommend the lodge to anyone wanting high standard accommodation with really good service.

We had our Wedding in Port Elizabeth in August and wanted to stay somewhere special for our Wedding night before going on honeymoon. Thunzi was the best choice we could have made!! The short drive after the wedding was well planned and once you got there you felt like you were far away from the city, even though it was just around the corner. The luxury cabin was beautiful and inviting and each cabin is separated from the next by some dense bush, making you feel as if you were in your own private getaway! The next morning we had a beautiful and delicious private breakfast on our balcony where the food rivaled the view. The staff is very friendly and accommodating and the setting is idyllic. We stayed there when we got engaged and married and we will definitely be going back soon.

We had a truly relaxing experience at Thunzi, and one we will always remember. Although only a few miles from civilisation, Thunzi feels like you are in the middle of nowhere. Amazing wildlife is on the doorstep and gorgeous forest surrounds the cabins. Luxury is the theme in the cabins; beautifully decorated, fully fitted grand bathroom and french doors to your own private balcony in the forest. Also, the cabins are completely removed from one another meaning you don't have to see another guest the whole time you stay, if you wish! The swimming pool is awesome, set in the middle of greenery and offers a perfect oasis.

We had dinner cooked just for us on the night we stayed and it was absolutely fantastic. The staff were so attentive and could not do enough for us.

Thunzi was the perfect start to our trip along the Garden Route, and the only downside was that we could only stay for one night!

We stayed at Thunzi Bush lodge for two nights, and our only regret was not staying longer.

From the beautiful setting in a valley surrounded by indigenous forest, to the luxurious and private accomodation and the mouthwatering food served on the deck overlooking the valley, all accompanied by an attentive and friendly staff, this was truly an unforgettable experience.

A must is also a night walk in the surrounding forest looking for nocturnal creatures or just gazing up at the stars in the sky.

A walk along the nearby untouched beach and sand dunes, followed by lazing at the stunning swimming pool is also not to be missed.

All in all, a wonderful experience.

Thanks and Good Luck !

The staff, the food, the cabins, the surroundings, the walks are all awesome. Very definately highly reccommend Thunzi for anyone who is wanting to spend some quiet time away. It is close enough to civilisation if you want it, yet far enough away from it if you are not wanting the city life. The service is fantastic & the food is outstanding . Worth every penny spent.

We stayed at Thuzi Bush Lodge recently on our holiday through the Garden Route to Cape Town.

It was absolutely fantastic, like a haven in the wild. Whilst the weather was overcast and raining, and therefore didn't allow us the opportunity to enjoy eating al fresco, we really appreciated the beautiful chalets equipped with an indulgent bathroom allowing you to soak in a hot tub with the sound of rain falling outdoors.

Highly recommend you pamper yourself with this luxurious retreat!
