My family normally go to Garden court for dinner since we are living in Mthatha. The food is divine and appetizing. Staff friendliness is best, especially the kitchen staff are doing excellent work. They go an extra mile when we were there to have dinner and unfortunately for the hotel there was a water disaster flooding in the dining hall. The cause was the outburst of municipal pipes in their nearby construction site. The staff and the hotel management tried their best to manage the situation under those difficulties. There also a group of tourists from Australia who were made feel at home and informed friendly about the disaster.

Thank you Mthatha Garden court team for being the leading example in showing hospitality qualities and I hope the stress, trauma and frustration that is caused by that situation is nothing compared to the joy of serving your customers with best of service. I recommend you to anyone who wanted to try your food

Hotel is in a good location as you come in on N2 (beware of speed bumps) and across from WSU. Used to be a hoiday Inn so large room sizes but furniture layout and style is dated. Security offerred to carry bags, reception (Sandisiwe) was friendly and went out of her way to process check in by phoning travel agent since our accommodation voucher failed to be sent to the hotel.

Keep up the good work. More work can be done to improve because there is always room for improvement. The location of the hotel is something that needs some form of an attention as it is somehow inconviniencing to get into the hotel.

We had no problems with checking in or out. Rooms were usual standard.

Our first booking was made online for 3 people, but there were only 2 towels in the room. Our second check in was for 4 people and we still had to call for towels. Fortunately the housekeeping staff were prompt.

Dinner in the hotel was à la carte and we waited for an hour for our food (we were one of only three tables in the restaurant). It appears there was a problem with the toasted sandwich order. Fortunately the staff were friendly and somewhat apologetic.

We hade to que at reception during our check in and we orderd room service which took about an hour and we complained but the manager never even apologies of which we paid for our stay.
Thanks to Xolani/Xolile, he knows whats the meaning of the word service is, he always respond with emphathy and he managed to change our minds becouse we were saying we will never ever stay at Garden Court again, he even offered us with breakfast pack becouse we checked out very early while the resturant was still closed.
Hope that we can be treated that way when we come back to Mtata again!!!
