We stayed here on our first night in South Africa to then be picked up and start our safari the next day. The place was odd in that there was very little information provided about when meals are served or accommodations around the place. The room was huge but absolutely frigid...overnight there was a frost and it was as cold in the room as outside. There was no heater in the room and I was shivering most of the night. The food was also pretty bad. The place seemed to be in a semi-state of disrepair...the outside security gate was broken and pieces of electrical connections lying on the ground. The room was large and the bath was also spacious, but I felt oddly out of place the entire stay. I was very grateful to leave the next morning. It was conveniently located outside of Johannesburg, but it was not what I was looking for. I was hoping for a practical, safe, but comfortable place to stay. This had the first two qualities.

My friend and I booked to stay here the night before our Safari. I had confirmed our pick up from the airport two nights before. I was told everything was confirmed. On arrival we waited for about 45 minutes and then rang the hotel. We were greeted by a rather upset driver. He was not very happy it seemed as we later found out he was called to pick us up and no one had told him we were coming. He had an argument with the staff member at reception. The rooms are basic but we found out in the morning there was no cold water (or water just a drip) for that matter. Our window had a view to the room next door and we heard the reception guy outside our door all night. It was a strange set up. This place is in the middle of farms and the drive there at night was a bit scary. There are better places like budget chain hotels around the airport where you could stay.

I booked with moafrika through the same booking agency that booked my safari. I was very pleased with the place! The staff is very nice, and the single rooms were gorgeous. In the cold winter days the heaters in the rooms were appreciated! It is off the beaten track, but provides easy transport to and from the airport and the city if needed. Also a big break from the tremendously large city that is Johannesburg! There is a chef onsite for easy eating, and the breakfast is delicious! I will stay again when I return to Joberg!

Stayed here our last night in Africa before flying out from Jo'burg. If you're looking for a really cheap night with a hostel/backpacker feel, then this is probably fine. We were looking for a B & B, and this is not that. Started out with the driver picking us up--not very friendly; had to stop for gas right at the airport, then swung by to pick a worker up at another place. We were wondering what was going on. As we pulled into the neighborhood, I was sure there had been a mistake. Questionable, unattractive area in the middle of nowhere. Place is in state of disrepair. Not gated, though everything else in the area is. Nobody there to check us in, never got a key. No soap in the room. Got queen without a/c as opposed to king with a/c that we booked. Owner nowhere to be found until later that night. Since nothing is close by, they serve dinner there. TERRIBLE! "Braii" (BBQ): chicken was raw inside, rump steak was cooked to texture of hockey puck and inedible, took over an hour to get food, all for $15 U.S. pp. (R1500.) Half the lightbulbs in the communal area were out. Room was dark and cold. We seriously considered calling a cab and going elsewhere even though we had no idea where to go. Instead we opted to leave for a tour first thing in the morning and then go directly to the airport so we could get the heck out of there. It nearly ruined what had been a wonderful 2-week stay in South Africa. The crowning glory was the owner's two (of four in the property) rottweilers having sex right in front of the entry. Nice. Perfect metaphor for our stay. The photos on the website and on tripadvisor make it look way nicer than it really is.

Room Tip: Very weird set up. Have no idea how this place is configured. Long cement hallway open to the outs...

Moafrica was the start point of our trip in South Africa. The place is absolutely awesome, the staff is very helpful and will do their best to accomodate any request. They also arrange Kruger Safari and accommodation and many other tours such as Soweto and Sun city. I highly recommend

This place is like living in the countryside in South Africa. The rooms are big and decor is very well chosen. There is also a swimming pool and a pool table. The staff is extremely friendly. This place had a hostel feel which we loved where we could meet travellers from other countries. The place had usual safety features like electronic alarms, secure gate and dogs so that was fine. It is 15 min drive from the airport so was a great stopover hotel for us.

Very good service (a lot of thanks to Andrew and the rest of the "team"). The atmosphere was good, relaxed, yet quiet to enable a good night sleep. Rooms are spacious and nice. We stayed a night before returning home next evening, were allowed to postpone checking out and to use the facilities (taking shower, changing clothes). Overall, the place exceeded our expectations. Only 10 to 15 mins from the airport. Due to the location you can not easily able to travel to Joburg on your own. Apart from that, we can warmly recommend MoAfrika.
