Visited here earlier today because of the reviews. I wasn't feeling well so after the long wait at the Dr surgery I thought I'll have a cup of coffee to down some pills. The food and service were great. We were welcomed by the owner and asked where we would like to be seated. I had the garlic & thyme chicken. I don't trust my taste buds at the moment but the roll was fresh and the plainness of the chicken on the roll was tasty (I would venture to say the thyme was a bit over powering and I didn't even get a hint of garlic) but it was tasty. My husband (also a fussy eater) enjoyed every morsel of his salad. And to think its on our doorstep! The setting is great, I think this part of Benoni has the potential for a Melville or Parkhurst feel. I do think our waiter was a bit tardy. She took quite a while to get our drinks order and then a while before it came. The food was served fairly quickly but it was another while before she popped in to ask if all was well (I would have liked some chilli or Tabasco) so it was quite late when she offered and brought it- I only had one bite left! Oh and those mini- miniature cookies they served with the coffee was really nice too! I'll be back in spring! AA
