“Great Indian food”
Reviewed 7 September 2013

When we as a family wants to eat Indian food, there is only one place on the East Rand ........ Classic India in Boksburg. A must to try is the butter chicken, korma lamb or chicken and for the guys that can take it - the vindaloo dishes. The service is tops and remember to book, very busy over weekends

“The Classic India”
Reviewed 3 September 2013

My boyfriend went to the Classic India on a Saturday night. We were surprised at how busy the restaurant were and we thought that we would not get a table straight away. The manager however assured us that they will move a table around for us to be seated at. We went in the middle of winter and it was freezing outside. Inside however it was cosy and very warm, because of the heaters. What a wonderful atmosphere. The moment you walk in you are greeted with the aromas of curries, cinnamon, onions and garlic and your mouth starts to water. We did not wait long for our food and when it arrived it was a feast to the eyes. You actually did not know where to start and everything looked and smelled absolutely divine!! I had the Butter Chicken and my boyfriend had the Lamb Korma. Both was absolutely delicious, the best we have ever had. We can truly recommend those dishes to everyone! The service was fast and efficient.

“Indian delight !”
Reviewed 13 August 2013

The classic India has to be one of the best curry joints in the area
Their butter chicken , korma curry and vindaloo is amongst the best ive ever had
freshly made clay oven rotis are a great accompaniment to your curry
The restaurants decor itself has an Indian bling to it and the furniture and decor create a great ambiance

They also have a great wine and cocktail selection

Definitely worth a visit if your in the mood for South Indian Cuisine

“Once, Twice, Three times already...”
Reviewed 12 June 2013

Been to this cozy "little" restaurant thrice so far and the experience has been well worth it.

Decor is up-market, venue is warm nice and cozy in those chilly winter evenings, good selection of wine, good menu, clean ... Price reasonable - so far.

Down side? Portions can be a little bigger and the coriander & mint sauce is a little too spicy for my taste. Management is aloof and doesn't do the "table visit". On the second and third visit, the table linen had a few greasy spots here and there.

If you love North Indian cuisine but find this restaurant a little too pricey, try Haveli's Take away just around the corner from The Classic India. It's nowhere near as classy looking but the food is just as good - if not better - in some instances.

Well done, in any event. We will be going back ...
