Although we didn't stay long, our night at the Northcliff Manor Guest House was a relaxing, beautiful and romantic one. The breakfast was to die for, and the service was exceptional. A stunning room with a stunning view, and exquisite furnishings.

I feel I struck gold when I first found the manor! Lovely house with quirky, stylish interior packed with art and antiques. Spotlessly clean comfy rooms. Charming, accommodating staff and hosts. A unique and special find! I have stayed here three times and will be back for more.

I stayed there for one night after a trip to the Victoria Falls a while back. The Manor organized an airport transfer from the airport which was really expensive (800R) because it was quite far from the airport. I arrived from a late flight and therefore the lady offered me some complimentary toast. The exterior and interior was absolutely beautiful. I loved the vibrant colours on the walls, furniture and decors. Stayed in an en-suite, rooms were clean and cozy. They did my laundry and was ready the next day. I was so glad I finally had steady wifi, not being stuck with the slow 3G sim card which couldn't receive reception in many places. Had a scruptious breakfast with a wide variety (sausage, eggs, toast, yogurt, fruit, etc.). I loved their cocker spaniel dog "Pablo", he just sat there beside me all morning.

Lovely place if you're looking for a quiet place to stay.

We had a wonderful stay at Northcliff Manor Guest house and will definitely go back there again in the future! On arrival we were met by extremely friendly and helpful staff who offered us a drink whilst our luggage was taken to our room. We sat and enjoyed this on the verandah, we then went to our room which was so delightful, the whole house is tastefully furnished in interesting unique art and antiques and our room was an extension of this with luxurious gold furnishings, paintings on the wall and welcoming finishing touches including a cute chocolate on the pillow and complimentary tea, coffee, sherry and of course traditional South African rusks! We had a room with a balcony which had a view over the lush gardens, and during the day it felt that we were a million miles away from the city, but at night you could see the lights of Johannesburg between the branches. The bedroom and bathroom were very clean and comfortable with a large shower and nice soft towels. The location is idea for exploring Johannesburg, only a short drive onto Bayers Naude Drive (a main road through the city) and near to lots of good quality restaurants and places of interest. The next morning whilst having breakfast we met the friendly and interesting hosts Johnny and Ilse who made our stay very enjoyable - we especially enjoyed their choice of music and interesting conversation. Breakfast was superb with a wonderful fresh fruit salad, choice of yoghurt, cereal, croissants and cheese as well as a cooked breakfast option including omelettes which are fabulous! We would highly recommend staying here for a relaxing oasis in the middle of a fast paced, modern and energetic city. A little tip if you like dogs, ask Johnny if he'd bring his 5(!) rescued dogs over to the guest house for you to meet, their beautiful personalities are a real asset to anyone's day!

Room Tip: We had room 3 - the Gold Room - it was lovely, great views and ideal if you like to sit out and have...

The service was excellent and friendly service, the rooms were spotless, and the location and views were stunning! The breakfast buffet was also outstanding. The only issue that I experienced was poor mobile reception, but this is due to the hill on which the guest house is located.

Lovely staff! The house had so much character and charm was and beautifully decorated with interesting and quirky antiques. The perfect antidote to a sterile hotel. The location could be a bit more central, only 10 minutes from Sandton w/o traffic, but during rush hour, it is longer. Would definitely recommend. Great value for the price.

We stayed 2 nights at the manor Guest House. It is close to everything you wish: downtown Johannesburg, aeroport, Cradle of Humankind, Lion Park...The house is a real mansion set in a lush garden: you see the weavers doing their nest from your window. Inside, it is going back to the beginning of the past century for wonderful furniture, and many Others things like paintings, Chinas, chandeliers.
