Cold wet autumn Saturday in Jo'burg, where better to have a boozy lunch than Parteirinha?
Wonderful ambiance with a crackling fire reflecting off wine bottles lining the walls. Old chandeliers and colonial fans adding to the atmosphere. And what a pleasure to have appropriate Portuguese music in the the background.
The service was good, but unfortunately a little distracted by two large parties enjoying themselves.
The food was fantastic....so good you would think you were in Portugal. Piri piri chicken was superb - best in Joburg for sure. Two criticisms: the starter portions are way too big. One starter will comfortably serve three people. The chourico was not the best. I would have preferred half the quantity and double the quality.
All in all this was an excellent meal in an excellent setting. I will definitely return......
