When you've finished touring the Constitutional Court precint on Braamfontein Hill and you've wandered around Newtown abosrbing the feel of Jozi city, it's time to head for the Wits Art Museum (WAM) Cafe (part of the University of the Witwatersrand). Floor to ceiling windows let you watch Braamies life pass by as you indulge in some of the scrumptious food on offer. Run by Olives & Plates, it's difficult to choose sometimes - red velvet cupcakes (large), chocolate tarts & the SA favourite, milk tart, to mention a few - will satisfy your sweet tooth. Hungrier? Then the quiche is great as is the weigh-your-plate hot lunch on offer. If you like salad you're in the right place. It's a toss up between the oh-so-tasty bean and the coleslaw with pineapple, sesame oil and nuts - my mouth's watering as I write this!
And then there's the art - which you'll have to discover for yourself. Enjoy.
